Try another monitor first to make sure it isnt the video card that bad. Or also try pushing the power button on the monitor off then back on. Sometimes my newer Sony acts up and I have to turn the monitor off and back on after windows has started.

If you mean you see writing on the screen but it goes black when Windows starts to load you can do this:
1. Start pressing F8 when you turn on the computer. You want to do this before Windows gets a chance to load.
2. Choose "Enable VGA Mode".
If you video card resolution was changed to a higher resolution that the monitor can support it should now revert to a setting the monitor can handle.

I'd just buy another one unless that one has some sort of replacement warranty. This is the one I just got... it's awesome.

Prolly not, it is a new standard. I got my cable, thanks anyway. I have an old 15" CRT if you are in need of one.

I am a Network Administrator for a long, long time now. And through my travels, I have accumulated an awful large amount of computer parts and things....
Cables, whatever, I would have it.
Free of course, just so I would be able to get rid of some stuff.
Email or PM, and I'll reply.
