Anybody out there take some great fall vacations. We went to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Spings, W Va last year and it was very nice. The price was cheaper than the astronomical summer and Christmas fares, all your food was included (except for lunch), and the mountains were all orange and red. The hotel seemed very family friendly with tons of kids programs, they stay and eat free, and there's bowling, an arcade, and even a movie shown every night.

Sounds Nice. I'm always trying to get my wife to go to hotels that aren't in the tropics and go out West sometime during the Fall. Personally I'd like to visit Montreal, Canada this fall. The place just looks so beautiful during the fall from what I have seen off the Travel and Food channels.

I want to go back to the beach again.I can see colored leaves outside my windows lookin at the mountain.State Park there doesn't close till the end of Nov.
I don't understand why anyone would want to go to another country when we have so much to do and discover here in our own country.I would love to go see the Redwoods,go back to the Desert,I've only seen the Rockies once and would like to again.Havn't seen Rushmore yet.Theres alot I want to see here.Just don't have the time and then theres that money thing too.

Went to Montreal and Quebec City a few years ago in July. Really liked Quebec City much better than Montreal. It was really beautiful on the river!!

I'm the opposite Dragonlady I'd love to visit Rome, and Germany just to see all the history, churches, and castles which we don't have here.

There's one right up there in Berkeley Springs!

Been to the Berkeley Springs Castle, and it would be nice if it was kept up. It's kind of a tourist trap. The castles I mean are Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, or see the Glockenspiel Cathedral.

I've been to Quebec several times, and it is beautiful! You get the sense you are in Europe but the price of traveling there is much less! You can even drive there in about 10 hours, it's not bad.

My neighbors told me that when they went to Quebec that the people there were very rude to them, unlike the rest of Canada.

That's cause thier French in Quebec and the french have only 'disdain' for the boorish and crude Yanquis...

I found the Montreal folks a little too into their frenchness, but Quebec City was terrific. Out in the countryside, though, you have to know a little french to get around because most don't speak much english. My only hang-up was Quebec French and the French I learned in school are 2 different animals. (just like American english and British english)
