OK,

Asking for advice from flip, even forum trolls may have some good info.j/k

Which camp ground in the Williamsport / Mauganville area would you recommend. I would like to have water and electric hook up. Nothing real fancy a Shower house, and hopefully a pool or a some sorta beach with a swimmin hole. I called Yogi bear and they do not have any monthly campsites avaiable.

I plan to stay in my Popup camper for about a month or so. I am starting work at the airport 21 May. I figured the camper would be a great base of operations while I look around and aquaint myself with the area.

TIA for any info.

PS,
what is the better cell service up there? Verizion would be my choice but...

Ok I just read he is banned again so I guess the question will have to go to someone is is not banned.
Dougstermd
And one more question are there private forums here?

Where do yo go to Knock on the door?

are there any private ones that let almost everyone in?

On somd.com they have one called FIGHT CLUB just a place you can go and argue etc.
Patton
In the Williamsport area there is a KOA, I have found them very nice, at least the ones we stayed in in Florida.

Cell Service, if you don't mind the rates Verizon is ok. We just switched to Cingular, still "test-driving".

I was going to recommend Yogi Bear, but obviously that's not a decision.

I'm not aware of any other camp grounds, maybe someone else can help.

As far as cell phone service, I find that U.S. Cellular gives about the best coverage in the area. People I know have Nextel, T-Mobile, Sprint PCS or Verizon and I consistently get a strong signal when they can't. And I've never had a dropped call. We had a discussion on cell service a good while back here:

And, I'm not aware of any private forums.

Doe U.S. celluar offer wireless laptop service?

well if you are not aware of any private forums then I would guess there are not any.
Yossarian
i think the only air cards (wireless laptop) in the area are served by T-Mobile. The signal is not that good, at least on the one I had at my former job. The cell companies haven't yet found western maryland, not enough customers, plus the mountains play havoc with cell signals.

Some of the younger folks here may be aware of private forums, I just don't seek those forums out.

I found a few campgrounds in the Williamsport Area. Found none in the Maugansville Area.
Not sure if Williamsport, have what your looking for.

As far as cell phones goes, I been with T-mobile for the pass 5 years. I'm happy with them.

Give them a call. I don't know if they have monthly rates, but they do have sites. They're only about 5mins from Williamsport down Rt.11 south, across the bridge into WV. And they're real close to the interstate and an exit.
Snoopy
Not sure if Greenbrier State Park has monthly rates...or is even open yet, but you could call...

Sorry I steered you in the wrong direction. I was looking up campgrounds and seen Williamsport. And I posted it without looking it over further.

I see other people posted some good camp site. Wish you luck. smile.gif

I could rent you a spot on my land up in the woods above Myersville where I have a little shack. It has picnic table and a crick to bathe in. All I would ask in return is that you do some cleaning.
