Ziggy's in Smithsburg.
This place just opened and is supposed to be owned by a head chef from a local restaurant.
I probably should have put this in my critic thread but thought it to important to bury it.
well where do I start...
First off the place is still dirty. No one cooking is wearing hair protection. Everything is sticky. The windows are filthy.
Best of all they CHARGE FOR WATER!!!!
We watched them (Including the owner) stick their fingers in the freshly microwaved soup to test its temp!! It was still cold! Even though it was microwaved and a crappy burnt piece of bad bread came with it the homemade French onion soup was good. (Just good)
All of the prices are higher than Panera (Similar menus) for instance they have a pick two type of deal and is is $7.50 versus Paneras $6.29. If you are going to charge high prices the food better rock including presentation and service. All of which were poor at best.
They have closed the drive through and turned it into a table service place. A poor choice. Just like the last place (Ariels) the staff is not skilled in waiting tables and especially not skilled at cooking. The prices are too high for the area and there is little attention to detail.
I am sorry for such a rant but this place truly is a waste of time and money.
