Kountry Kitchen: on Water Street in Thurmont.
OK,
This is a mom and pop cafe/diner.
Clean and great service. All sorts of home style favorites. I actally had the fried shrimp and scallops. Not the best choice I could have made, I knew better than to order sea food there but the meal was still excellent even though the shrimp and scallops were of the boxed frozen variety. They had crab cakes on special and I commented No way could they be good here in the mountains. I forgot there is a crab house right next door. Judging from the homemade side items I bet the crab cakes would have been great. I had corn fritters awsome, and ready for this Buffalo chix pasta salad the name was intrigueing and the experience was, WELL AWSOME. We got some pasta salad to go. I have to give this place a Two thumbs up. Could be the perfect spot for an afternoon early evening date. I think they are open only till 9pm. Also would be a great day trip on the bike Nice cruise on rt 77 through the moutains down into town for lunch / dinner and maybe a hike on oe of the trails.
Everthing I seen served in this place looked delicious. My only regret is I did not order one of the homemade entrees. The Slippery Pot Pie looked awsome as did the fried chicken. I put this one on the must do list for a lazy saturday cruise :yay:
PS
My nine year old son commented "Dat they spelled Country wrong" :LMAO:
