NEW YORK -- A new NBC show is bound to attract attention for the title alone: "Without Breasts There Is No Paradise."

The network has agreed to produce a prime-time English-language version of the telenovela of the same name, which has set ratings records in Colombia. A Spanish edition with a different cast and script will be made by Telemundo, also owned by NBC Universal.

The series is about a 17-year-old call girl who worries that her flat chest will consign her to a life of poverty.

It broke ratings records in Colombia that had been previously set by "Betty La Fea," which became an English-language success when it was remade into "Ugly Betty" by ABC last fall. But "Sin Tetas" has also attracted protests from feminists and pro-family groups in a country where breast augmentation is big business.

"I scour the world for the best ideas and for the game-changing hit shows and `Sin Tetas' is one of those shows," said Ben Silverman, NBC entertainment chairman.

The Colombian production company Canal Caracol let NBC Universal (a unit of General Electric Co.) acquire the rights.

"Without Breasts There Is No Paradise" that would make a great signature...

I don't get it. I've heard of females feeling unattractive because they have a flat chest, (dumb ), but never have I heard that they are afraid it will lead them into poverty. What correlation does boob size have with the amount of money you make? Unless she's a stripper or a hooker?

You've never noticed guys, not me of course, give preferential treatment to chicks with big racks? Treat them nicer, give them things, etc. The point they're trying to make is that it's easier to get ahead when you're hott.

Ah, I see now. I guess I was just focusing on the word "poverty." Big breasts = preferential treatment, but flat chests = poverty? Not only will the flat chested not receive preferential treatment, but we'll also force them into poverty! /sarcasm

Either way, I've seen some really ugly boobs, big and small sizes. If you ask me, it's not how big or small they are, it's the shape. Those champagne flute ones are foul.

There's always going to be stuff about yourself that you don't like, physically and personality-wise. You've got to learn how to embrace those things and love them...or at least learn how to laugh at them. I know, I know. I'm a good one to preach. I hate about a million things on me and hardly any of them are funny!

I just wonder to what extreme these girls will freak out when they start to age. Nevermind your lack of boobs, check out your crow's feet and those saggy knees! Bah ha ha!

Bewbs don't make the woman. Ladies with smaller bewbs are generally more attractive and have sweeter personalities than those with massive mammaries.

Personally, I think the whole idea of this show is silly.

Seriously though, it's worrisome that there is a whole generation of men coming up that has no idea what real, nonsurgically altered breasts look like.

On a side note, I hate to see what will happen to this thread if that Flipper dude returns...

There should be a boobie donor list to help out the less fortunate...
