Ok... it's not "fun," exactly... unless you call free stuff FUN! Anyone here freecycle (www.freecycle.org)? I tried it a while back but never really got too into it.

I tried it, but my email inbox got flooded with every offer and every taking, and I couldn't figure out to be a member without getting all of that, so I un-joined pretty quickly. Maybe it's different now, though.

I'm looking for a pool table......

I'm a member of Freecycle, Have been for a little while. It's a great way to get rid of unwanted items.
You know what I mean, you buy something years ago. That you thought you wanted, now you don't.
If your lucky, you can tell the person that you would like to have the items. You may or may not get it.
I'm on there now, trying to get baby items for my daughter. Ohhhhhhh, I can ring her neck. lol

A few years back, I had to tear down a cinder block wall. So the guys could put my privacy fence up.
So I gave away close to 60 cinder blocks, thinking I would never use them. Now I can use them. lol

This is how you opt out those emails.

You log into your account, your see at the top left. Edit Membership. Click on that.
You can opt out, of getting all those emails, and just look at the site it's stuff.

My yahoo email account, is only used for Freecycle.

I'll have to check that out. Never heard of it before. Sounds cool.

OFF topic--- Sweets, don't forget about Ollie's. I was there yesterday and they have some baby stuff cheap. Especially toys and books.

I freecycle on the Waynesboro site.

It's pretty easy, and you can find a bunch of cool, free stuff.

I"ve used freecycle several times, always successfully. I wanted to clean out my closets, etc., and going to the local charities is a PITA. Sorry, but they treat you as if they are doing you a favor.

I listed the items I wanted to give away and where they could pick the stuff up, and, voila, the stuff was picked up for someone else's use.

I'd use it again in a heartbeat - right now I am trying to cut down on my books. Giving away books can be a pain, I have learned.

Have never tried to get anything from freecycle, since I am trying to get rid of stuff. But I really like freecycle.

I used to freecycle a lot, giving and receiving! DH is trying to break me of bringing home the used furniture now that we can afford to buy some nice stuff new stuff. I guess I got used to pinching pennies when I was a single mom laugh.gif .

It does get frustrating when you're trying to give stuff away and people don't show up to pick up the stuff. I'd rather give to Goodwill and take the tax credit.
