I've just read where our lovely leaders in Charleston have banned the word casino from all signs and advertisements. I guess it had something to do with the "casino" on Edwin Miller Blvd that was in a building the size of a house.

I read that too. But the one thing I don't understand is why would the owner call it a casino in the first place? The place is a lounge that serves food and alcohol, and it only has 5 lottery machines. Do 5 machines make a casino?

I guess, maybe he was trying to make it sound all nice. Like an exotic dancer club rather than a strip club.

I guess that's true too, but when I think of casino, I'm thinking there are lots and lots of machines.

Me too, I think off something like Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas or something like that.

So just the word on an ad is banned? So if they call it a gambling den it is ok? Or a s----ers hall it would be alright? What a panic!
Heather
What is s----ers supposed to be? I just can't figure it out.

Hmmmm...first thing that came to my mind was 'sinners'...

Guilty conscience, perhaps ??

I just thought of something--maybe your state is getting money from Maryland to let us have casinos(use the word) so your state sounds upscale...

Yeah, we West Virginians are so urbane!
