Went there for sushi the other night, and have to say I didn't think it was great.

First, the rice was waaayyy too sweet for my tastes. Obviously sushi includes seasoned rice. But this stuff tasted like candy.

Second, the soup was just average. I was hoping for something better.

Third, I felt the size of the sushi was, overall, just average.

Sakura still ranks supreme, IMHO, for sushi in H-town.

However, Nikkos did have tons of hibachi tables. So hibachi fans might find it preferable to the other Japanese restaurants in town, which often have long waits for a table.

Where is it located? I'd like to try it. I don't eat sushi nor do I care much for Japanese soup but other than for my birthday or Father's Day I can't get my family to agree on a restaurant other than Texas Road House or Olive Garden, but they do like eating hibachi style. It's more of an event, the grand-kids like it, the teenagers like it and I love just about anything stir-fried with a little Japanese hot sauce.

It's by the mall... in same center as Martin's and El Ranchero.

I haven't tried it out yet. But, my son went. He's a major sushi fan and he said it was more expensive than Sakuros. I think he said that they don't have any lunch specials either. But, don't take my word for that.

I am stuck on Sakura. The food is so fresh and the people that run the restaurant are the best! So friendly.

The only thing that I wish Sakuras would change is their salad. I agree with moms. House of Kobe has the best salad. The shredded cabbage, carrots, and rice noodles is far better, IMO, than the lettuce and cukes with watery dressing. But, that's all I would change.

I'm sure I'll try Nikkos, but just no need to hurry.
