Did y'all see that lovely long & puffy piece in yesterday's paper regarding the wonderful, delectable, loved school board? And how all their prior problems with the parents have just well, Disappeared and we all Love them now?!
I want to know what these administrators are smoking...or drinking--is there something in the water at the school board office?
The piece was just oozing of scmaltzy garbage....Another PR piece if I ever saw one...did you notice that they also mentioned they NEED money?
I am tired of listening to them..and no, I have not gone off the deep end. The ciriculum is lousy and the kids are not 'challenged' enough...

txexpatriot
Maybe they are angling for their own private entrances too!
In other words, yes Dragonlady, it does sound like a lot of horse pittoe...
ps-heather I am not a sourpuss--but I do not need special ed either...
Heather
Sorry - off topic again - but I just had to say...

Honestly Txex, I think you took my post the wrong way. Communication breakdown here. I read your initial post and then was surfing around the board and read about the homeschooling seminar. I remembered you saying that you wanted to homeschool your kids this year and wished you would have. You seem so fed up with the schools and had talked about homeschooling, so I actually was being thoughtful when I posted that. It really only was a suggestion or FYI. It was only until a few minutes ago, after re-reading our posts, did I realize you may have focused on the "special needs" part of the seminar and thought I was applying that to you. I'm explaining all this for peace sake. I wasn't poking at you at all. smile.gif

Actually, I don't know if txex had mentioned wanting to homeschool, but I did. There ya go mixing us up again, Heather! rolleyes.gif However, it is useful info for anyone fed up with the local schools, so thank you for posting it!
WVU-Mountaineers
Why does everyone get you two mixed up?
momsapilot
Probably because we both equally hate the BOE and the sorry excuse for public education it promotes.
Heather
Momsapilot - There I go again. I think you are right. I don't think she mentioned homeschooling either. Regardless, I was only trying to freaking help! I know I keep getting you two mixed up. Maybe it is me that needs the special needs homeschooling. blink.gif

Momapilot--maybe we should try to be more different..I tell you what I am short--does that help?
momsapilot
Maybe I will have to break down and get an avatar of a jet or something. I may even have to have an attitude adjustment....nah, won't happen!

The Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday voted 6-0 to spend $14,400 to have Oxford Associates manage the school system's flexible spending account services. The move will allow School Board employees to use debit-like cards at pharmacies instead of going through the central office for medication money.

OKAY---THEY NEED A MEDICATION SPENDING ACCOUNT???Why???????????? huh.gif mad.gif
WVDragonlady
Well,...you know that doctor prescribed drugs are more exceptable than just the plain run-of-the-mill street brand! wink.gif rolleyes.gif

Man! How do ya get a job at the boe?
momsapilot
Because they are all psychotics who need their cheer-ups to "function". Although I don't think their 12 step program is working. Actually they are on an trying to go up the down escalator, so it seems they are making a lot of progress, but are really going nowhere.
Sorry, was I being cruel again? ohmy.gif
txexpatriot
nah, just realistic. They are so concerned with themselves looking good, they tend to push the real objective under their collective armpits... ohmy.gif
