Hi, I would like to know that if you had a choice or if you had to, which area of Maryland would you most like to live and why. I dont want to hear anything like 'nowhere because I like hagerstown and wouldnt trade it for nothing' either, if you are like that then what would eb your 2nd choice? I sort of have a preference for Westminster, it is so close to the big city but yet such a small town atmosphere. Good people from my experiences anyway and it has just about everything anyone in modern times seeks.

Carroll County has become a bedroom community for the Balto/Wash Metro Area. Commuters are merely sleeping there and not contributing much to the community. Mt Airey, Taneytown, Westminster all just part of the big metro-complex.

Western Maryland somewhere between Westernport/Savage Lake area...for the fly fishing of course and little to no traffic.

I enjoy the gulf coast as well. I used to go to Spring Hill above tampa on route 19. I love those old gulf fishing villages with all the canals. The area you mentioned is ok too I like Sanibel Island. I really wanted you to name a place in MD though bud. Just pretend Hagerstown doesnt exist or something, cmon. Thats what I requested at the beginning of the post anyhow.

And so has Hagerstown. as far as Carroll Ill agree with the yuppie denomination dominating places like Eldersburg but there are some unique and very good hearted natives there around Westminster. I cant agree with you about Taneytown though. That place hasnt changed much at all cept for the East end of town with a new food lion and a few small developments.

Up there on Gapland mountains, now call Gathland. It's very peaceful there.

Helluva lot better people in Baltimore metro than DC anyday anyway. Sure rather be in Carroll than Montgomery.

This area is gorgeous and I am here to stay because my kids are here. But, if I had the money, I would choose the Eastern shore because it's so close to the ocean. Maybe a small town like Berlin, MD. Or Snow Hill, MD. I love the ocean!

Hi checkingin. I used to live in Salisbury for a short time period awhile back so I know alot about those towns. I do like the geographical aspect of the area but I dont know if you were aware but those towns are extremely poor, even Salisbury. It wasnt much better than Beckley, WV as far as employment goes. In many of those small towns and Snow Hill is one of them whites are a minority down there too. I dont like Ocean City too much either, id much rather be at Assateague.
