Well I lost my sushi (true raw fish) virginity last nite...

anyways for my 1st sushi I tried the tuna sashimi and eel and cucumber temaki. I was really surpised it was really good...

any other suggestions I had no idea what sushi to order.

We (me and 7 other co-workers) took 2 Korean Mechanical Engineers out for dinner last night. They have been on loan here where I work for a year now and are finished and leaving for home tomorrow. I picked Miyako had been there once a few years ago and blows away House of Kobe and Sakuras IMO.

If you are in Fredneck and enjoy sushi/Japanese steak/seafood houses try Miyako!

I like spicey tuna and crab. They were both good starters for people trying sushi.

Mmm...I like spicy tuna roll. Actually spicy tuna hand roll. I think House of Kobe's is best. It took me a long time to try eel roll (I just kept getting a mental image of an eel *shudder*), but now it's one of my favorites. I think I could eat sushi every day, but if I did that I'd probably have mercury poisoning.

Did you dip your sushi in that excruciating hot sauce they have? Some of that stuff is hotter than eating them real hot habaneros or chile peppers raw.

I smeared some green chit on them I think it's was wasabi it was hot and tried soy dip a few times. Both were good.

the ell was hand rolled and very tasty...the tuna were strips about 4-5" long now should I have dabbed wasabi then rolled them to eat? or just pick up the strip and title head and drop in mouth? I have no chopstick skillz...gonna ask for the rubber band ones next time...

this might end up being to trendy for me... dry.gif

With tuna sashimi, I generally put just a tiny bit of the wasabi on it, a slice of pickled ginger, and dip the whole thing in soy sauce. Yummy! I guess it just depends on your personal preference.

Heh, I'm sure they'd give you some of the rubber band chopsticks if you asked. biggrin.gif

I cant handle that real hot stuff anymore bud, more power to ya. I wonder what kind of crab they use there.

Try the salmon. When I was a fish eater, salmon was my absolute fave.

Id rather have the crab over anything anywhere. MD crabs that is.
