I just discovered this new feature on Netflix. It's under the "watch instantly" tab. Turns out that my current plan, (3 a month), allows me access to 17 hours of free viewing for even more movies! Yay! There's approximately 4,000 titles to choose from. I watched part of a Talking Heads concert and some episodes of The Office yesterday. It's all covered under my existing plan. It's not some little video box either, it's high quality and full screen - no hiccups. Just like watching it on tv. Check it out if you have Netflix.

Demonoid does me just fine for movies. I can even copy them onto dvds and keep them allll for free. Netflix is cool though I used to have a few years ago. I will go check the new features out since you mentioned it Heather.

I want a free movie library too.

I could compile a neat horror one.

demonoid had a couple hours of open registration on Monday, which is rare. I'm not a big fan of torrents anyway. I have too much legal stuff to watch to worry about downloading torrents.

Similar to what I said to you about how I thought of you Christine but in a different way- I have never been to an area where so many others have disagreed with me and what I like and vice versa. Now ya wonder why Im so down most of the time, I feel like Im surrounded by enemies and I have to be Mr. Skeptical and Mr. Analytical of so many when they are like that. Serious Ive lived alot of places and no one place has had such differences with me than up this way, thats even weirder than I am.

Demonoid isnt the only thing I use by far though. More efficient and quicker for me is SuperFundo with alot of aXXo torrents as well as Scene torrents.

um, i just dislike it becuase of the way they run the site. you need to upkeep a certain amount of traffic per month or you will be banned. also i'm not the biggest fan of torrent tracker sites. it was nothing personal towards you, i just dislike Demonoid... sheesh...

I didnt actually say it was personal I said its what Im used to for some reason. Also if I had reason to think different than I do then I would but seriously how can I when my experiences havent warranted me to? I dont think too many would keep buying a product if it was consistently bad all the time. Lol its ok in a short time things will be changing. I have so many movies that I never have time to hardly watch any of them, then I check that movie thread in here and wonder how they have so much time if they work so long and hard, lol. Hey I wonder if netflix has like the complete seasons of Oz- the prison show that used to be on HBO? I havent found it but maybe I missed something. I have the first 2 seasons.

I use Demonoid too, but there are a couple of other private sites that I use and they all have their own trackers. All of the private sites I use require you to keep up a certain amount of traffic or have a minimum ratio... no leeching. That's cool with me because I don't want to wait 4 days for a torrent to download anyway. When I'm not at home, I'll let a torrent run so that I can keep my ratio up and its not a problem.

They're illegally downloading movies off the internet Heather. Think of the old Napster pre-lawsuit, torrents work the same way.

you're much better off with netflix... it's legal and so cheap! i use the blockbuster version, but might switch over, now that they have the "view now"option... i can just hook my tv up to my computer and watch it that way!

Nah, I don't download movies anymore. The last movie I downloaded was probably LOTR: Return of the King right after I saw it in the theater. Didn't feel like waiting for the DVD to come out and then I got the special edition anyway. I have a nice 22" widescreen but its just not the same as my widescreen TV.
The only way its similar to Napster is that you're downloading content. Other than that, they're completely different.

I have Netflix but I'm considering canceling it next month. I'm trying out the new Blockbuster dealie where you can exchange movies in store. It's working out pretty well, haven't had any probs yet. Anyway, I digress- I noticed the "watch instantly" tab but never looked into it since I'm still in the stone age & on dial-up. I figured if it's anything like youtube then it will take me about 30 minutes to watch 5 minutes of footage lol.
