Anybody have kids at old forge? My sister want me to write and ask becuse she has young boy going to school there this year. She want know how it is.

No, Christine, there's an Old Forge School here in Hagerstown. Samyo and Old Griz rate it highly. I'm not sure where it is, exactly, but maybe off Old Forge Rd. near the Y??

I've heard very good things about the principal and teachers there.

Old Forge Elementary School is on Old Forge Road between MD Rt 62 and Cave Hill Road.
There is a new principal this year, but under the direction of Mr John Festerman the school was fantastic. My daughter is entering 4th grade and is still excited about going to school. They have an enrichment program for students who are above the curve (accelerated learners) that allows the student to be more challenged. The enrichment program up to third grade included math and reading and I believe starting in fourth grade it includes science also.
I could not be more pleased with the education my daughter is getting at Old Forge.
My wife (who is a school bus driver) did some research and said the new principal has been around the country for some time and has been involved in some interesting studies (along with Mr Festerman) and apparently was well liked in the schools she came from.... Like all new leaders, I guess she will be compared to Mr Festerman (who I thought was fantastic in his treatment and dealings with the kids), some will most likely find her wanting, but I will withhold judgment until I see what she does....

Thank you. I did not get n here too much today to write back. I told my sister what you guys said. She is about 37 or 38. My name is Paul if you wanted to know. I come in here to read alot. I dont write much. The guy you are talking about flipper was bothering me to tell people stuff in here. He came down and talked to me saturday night. i do like to sit outside or near old 7-11 and shoot crap with my friends in my truck. He is real upset. I dont know why. He gets mixed up with the wrong people I think. I know of him from years ago when he was staying with Terry Greene. He had a rough time with him. I cant do nothing for him I told him. All I say is he is upset and wants to come back in here but he is scared of cops. I will not write things much to you anymore. You act like you dont like me to write anything last cople times I was here. Sorry.
