Hi everyone,

Here's an excerpt from an article on the effect of coming MD tax hikes.

The shopping list of new taxes and tax hikes Gov. Martin O'Malley and his fellow Democratic leaders of the General Assembly are considering, if enacted could be the final straw that plunges Maryland into a full-blown recession.

Here's a link to the rest for those interested:

If true, start tightening your belt now or load up the U-haul. What Martin wants, Martin is gonna get. The state house chafed under the "restrictions" of a Republican governor too long. They are ready to go on a shopping spree.

LOL The idiots who voted O'Malley in deserve this. It is too bad we all have to suffer. I think the only taxes that should be raised is for those who voted him in. We had a surplus under Erlich and that just wasn't good enough for the unintelligent among us. Now our state is going into the hole. Congrats people you got what you wanted.

Maybe we could use that philosophy on the national level, i.e only the people who voted for Bush should have to go to Iraq.

I read somewhere that if you don't like something you can do one of three things...

2. Run for elected office and try to change it

Thing is Bush was the lesser of two evils at the time. Erlich was doing a vey good job with the economy and people seemed to forget that. I mean we had defeicits when Erlich came in and now he is gone we have them again.

Now as for Bush I voted for him but I honestly think at this point he should resign. Not because as some would make you believe that he organized the 9/11 attacks or manipulated the intel on Iraq. Sorry but anyone who believes that he could control intel from other countries and then have the smarts to pull it off on that scale is just plain out there. The big knock on Bush by some has always been he isn't very smart. But when it comes to this they want us to believe he is this evil mastermind who could fool the smartest people in the world? Come on that one it is laughable.

Also, I am probably shooting for number 2 on that list. It really depends right now on what happens with my employment. I am a federal employee for the time being and precluded from running for office. If that changes I am strongly considering running for office again and possibly as an independent. I don't believe either party has the best interest of the people at heart anymore. It is all about "the party" and getting an advantage over the otehr party. I believe people are first and parties are secondary.
Idiot
I agree with you on the party thing, I've been unaffiliated since 1988.

Why do you think Bush should resign?

Lesser of the two evils? Gore or Kerry?

Kerry he never met a position on an issue he didn't like. I think Bush should resign for his failure in leadership in dealing with people. it is one thing to be loyal to the people workign for you but Rumsfeld was there several years too long and everyone knew it. Also he was not listening to the General who know how to fight. yet Bush refused to remove him. Gonzales is another who should have been gone. Bush allows personal loyalty to interfere with his running of the country and that is mismanagement. At elast when Clinton was in he would get rid of anyone if the polls told him to. I think there is a middle ground and Bush should find it.
