I have to say, that the idea of being entertained by an online game that you have to not only buy the game, but pay per month for access to it seemed like one of those deals where you can get the buffet for $10, but to eat the crab legs or get steak you had to pay another $10 or so. While some of you may agree, the experience far outweighs the cost of this game.

Squaresoft, or Square-Enix for all those game players out there (I'm guessing there arent many) released this game in Japan about a year ago, grabbing about 400,000 users eventually (pretty good for an online game, seeing that the Sims:Online got about 100,000 in the US, which is a far larger market) Square finally released this game in the US late last month (Oct 29), and it has quickly become the game that sucks all of my free time.

First, a link to their website:
Final Fantasy XI:Online Home Page
Then, a plug for my FFXI site:
Vanadiel Online

I'd encourage everyone that is into Role Playing Games, or Final Fantasy in General to check them out, this blows away the current king of online RPGs (again, Role Playing games for the uninitated), Everquest.
