For all of the folks who have been following the recent Wade Painter murder trial I just wanted to share some insight. Please do not be quick to judge Wade he really is not the monster they have called him out to be.I have known him jeez well since he was a child we sorta grew up together in a sense. He had a horrible childhood I mean the worst you could ever imagine,I remember when I was just a young kid ,and was working there was times when I would take food over too the boys because there mother would just leave for weeks at a time and leave them with nothing .She would lay at the bars with her men ,(Third Base in Willliamsport was one of her regular hits) and the kids had to fend for themselves. It was a sad situation.
Anyway if you want to know more about the past and all just ask,the main reason I want to share is because I know Wade and he was one of the most soft hearted people I have ever known he would do anything for you.He would give you the shirt off his back.I cant seem to doubt with the evidence somehow he was involved in this crime unfortunately but I know he was not alone. There is no way he could have had the guts to shoot once let alone 4 times and then to stay around and try to cover up the scene. This is just not happening with Wade that way.I can say he was a recovering addict and yes it is possible he had relapsed and was once again strungout on what I dont know.I am almost certain this was a drug crime due to where the crime took place at a known "smokehouse".It really doesnt matter now who what when where..I just want you to know that Wade is not a monster and is not a horrible murderer they labeled him as.I think that they should have looked into it a little further for the second person involved.I know we all are responsible for our actions but you know sometimes children are unfortunately permantly damaged by the actions of there parents. It is sad to know that someone right now is being treated like Wade was as a child and yet another "parent" gets away scott free...It is a sad world we live in.......

There are a million people out there who have survived even rougher childhoods to become productive citizens. it takes a "special" type to kill a father and his son in cold blood. He shot, beaten, and strangled them. This guy should NEVER see the light of day again!!

Since you know him there is one thing you might be able to clear up that I didn't understand from reading an article about the trial. this is a quote from the article.

"Prosecutors also called Wade Painter's former boyfriend to the stand.

He told the jury that because he loves Wade, he wanted him to stay in jail so he won't be able to hurt anyone else.

The defense called Wade's current girlfriend and her mother to the stand. They painted a different picture, claiming he's a loving boyfriend who has redeemed himself after a bad childhood and battle with drugs.

"He's not a murderer. He's Wade. I've known him for a long time and we were together 10 months before this and was never violent, never so much as raised his voice to me," says Painter's girlfriend Angie Conner."

former boyfriend??? And this "boyfriend" wants him to STAY in jail so he won't hurt anyone else? sounds like some pretty damning testimony to me

i wasnt even going to get into it, but since samyO took one for the team and broke the silence...

sure, we may not be dealing with dillinger here, but THE MAN KILLED PEOPLE ON PURPOSE. i dont think they have to "do much" to make that look monstrous. sorry sommerrae, but you say he's not the "horrible murderer the make him out to be"... what other kind is there?? i know PLENTY of people who had TERRIBLE parents, and they do not kill people. yes, childhood can be psychologically damaging, but HE killed those people, not his mother. he may well have some deep issues to work out, but my sympathy doesnt exactly lie with him on this one.

btw... welcome to the forums... sorry youre going through a rough time atm. <3

okay--so the guy is not all 'evil'. Neither was John Wayne Gacy..or the Green River Killer or any other murderers...

BUT--if you murder more than 1 person, I think you definitely qualify as a person who does evil given the choice...therefore LOCK HIS A** UP...

Murder is what it is, MURDER no matter how much you may want to sugarcoat it.

Using a excuse of "Oh, I had a rough childhood, that's why I did it." Isn't going to cut it at least not for me.

I do agree with you totally about he gets what e has coming to him you all are exactly right and I am not trying to make light of the issue. At all i believe firmly that one should have to pay for what one has chose to do.You are right there are alot of people who have grown up inot be good productive members of society and I think also he should be in Prison as well.My whole thing of it is I know that he did not do this alone annd I think the other person should surely have to face the same consequences and one day will.I just want to share my knowings of him and let people know he was a decent person..But I havent seen in in over a year or more so you know people do change..It is just alot to swallow when something hits so close to home and you watched two children grow up and have there lives just destroyed..It is hard..But I am sorry for any misunderstandings..I do think he should pay for what he did.but I thinkn there should have been a bit more investigation thats all..

as for the person whom asked about the b/f g/f....
okay so Wade was really messed up emotionally for a long time he had went thur a time in his life he thought he was gay well then (I guess) he realized he wasnt and broke it off with the b/f ..There was alot of resentment there between the b/f and all so I can say that where all that came from..But as far as the g/f theey had been together for a while and lived together were even expecting a child...havent talked to her since June so i dont know exactly where that stands...

I have read several articles on this scumbag and not once did I see anything mentioned about anyone helping him? what evidence do you have that leads you to believe that there was someone else involved? i never really paid any attention to this when it happened because it was in WV but now that you've brought it up and I have read a little this was a heinous crime! now It also states that the victim was growing pot and maybe that had something to do with it but this guy is a murdering thief and will surely burn in hell for this. I think you have to admit that the nice little
boy you knew as he grew up turned into a despicable adult. It is a shame that he will never see the light of day again but after these brutal murders that exactly the punishment he needs

Horrific crime, some articles point to possible low end drug connections, with a long twisted path of depravity. I too had not paid much attention. Since it was posted, I started to read a bit. I do not like what I see.

Agree: a heinous crime. I am glad no children were exposed to the immediate crime. There are deep running problems with all the key players. Sadly, a very conflicted family that needs to take a preventative stance to this type of lifestyle of drugs or abuse. If an unborn child is waiting to come into this world, that family and circle of friends, needs to step up and be good role models. The adults need to make better choices for the next generation.

Mr Painter will need to do the time for his disregard for human life. There are no excuses for the crime committed by Mr Painter.
