as you all know ( because, much to your annoyance i have been spamming up the boards since august with my Halloween nonsense) this is my favorite time of year. every year i carve some magnificent masterpiece of a pumpkin... (ok i try but it usually comes out looking like a cross between a gourd ans swiss cheese)

anyone seen any cool ones i could try?? i like being able to pattern off of something ( yes i'm a pumpkin plagiarizer!)

i like this one so far....

its jack skellington, from "nightmare before christmas"

man. that's alot of pressure. i think i'm gonna cheat. "outsource" a bit. I didnt marry a 3D drafting engineer for nothing! The man spends all day doing intricate drawings on autocad... ( one of these days i'll post a pict of the marble coffee table he made me with the Steelers logo on it). trick is getting him to FINISH the masterpiece... every year, he spends all day looking for "the perfect pumpkin"... then he proceeds to sketch out some intricate design on said doomed gourd. a few hours and a 6 pack later, the thing looks IMMACULATE. then... comes the bad part. i'll say 'omg thats awesome! " and he'll find some tiny flaw, invisible to the naked eye, ( "that eyelash looks crooked" ) and have to "fix" it. i beg him to just leave well enough alone, but no avail. 5 mins later, the pumpkin is smashed on the sidewalk, my husband loudly declares "halloween is for kids and fairies!" , and the conversation switches to which teams will be playing on thanksgiving day, and "it'd better not be those G.Damn cowboys again."

haha.
Checkingin
CD,

When it gets to the point where the pumpkin is lookin good, do a "Marie" (from Raymond) distraction, and bring him in a nice snack, then grab the pumpkin and run!!! hee hee

Heather, that thread is soooo funny from a few years back. Hopefully, SMan has gone through mega therapy and survived the trauma without any PTSD. Part of his rehab, this year, should be to face his tragedy and carve up a pumpkin once again. How about it, SMan??

whoa!!!!! those are both awesome, but i think i like the dragon one the best. how'd you do the second one? the white area looks raised?
Heather
The white areas aren't raised. Those are the parts that are carved out. They just aren't carved all the way through to the middle. It's just the fleshy part right underneath the orange skin.
PHISH
OK I got these in an e-mail the other day so maybe you've seen them, but some of these are really cool.
