Somewhere between now and say... the middle of november, we wanted to charter a boat for some quality Chesepeake Bay fishing. ( lol ). i found a bajillion charters online, all for about the same price, but i have never been on any of them before. previously, we had always chartered a boat belonging to an old friend of mine, but he has since relocated. It s not the price, so much as the quality i'm concerned with.

Has anyone gone recently and had a good experience?? anyone with friends/family that do charters??

we're looking to take about 4-6 people, and be out for 6-8 hours. we would like for bait and tackle to be included in the cost, but if not, no biggie.

Solomons is a good place to launch from, it's not too far to drive and is close to the best fishing spots (bouy #70 and #72). Wait 2-3 more weeks, the water temps are still a little high for the big stripers. Some boats like to troll but I think chumming is more fun for a family thing. Most all of them provide the tackle. The last charter I went out on was the Carrie Sue. Captain Hank made it a lot of fun. It may be a little late to book but give him a call.

Good luck.

Glad to help, I knew you were into fishing from your shouts. Don't let my "family thing" comment confuse you, this captain is a serious fisherman. It's been 5 or 6 years ago but for 2 years in a row I chartered his boat in late Oct/early Nov. with 5 other guys and both years we limited out on rock before 11AM and the only ones we kept under 24" were hooked deep. We then caught sea trout for a couple hours both times. There's a lot of fish around now, you should have a blast.
