i know a bunch of us were wondering why Musselman high was on lockdown this morning... apparently there was a REPORT of a gun, and they locked the school down while the sherriff's dept searches (with dogs) for the gun. they reportedly have not found one yet, and they kids are all reported to be safe.

i spoke with the Berkley County Schools. ( 304.267.3500)

btw, i did NOT make this thread to gossip, i just wanted to make sure everyone knew the kids are safe, and no one was hurt.

Berkeley County, West Va. — Musselman High School in Inwood was locked down this morning after a threat claiming a student had a gun in the school was called in, Berkeley County Sheriff Randy Smith said.

Police investigated the threat and did not find a weapon. Police were continuing to investigate, Smith said in a 12:10 p.m. telephone interview. Smith said the lockdown was lifted around noon.

Berkeley County Schools spokeswoman Jaimee Borger said the school was in a “code orange” status after the threat was received. Code orange means students and staff remain in the building and follow the usual class changes and activities, according to a school system press release. However, under a code orange, visitors have limited access.
