Anyone know what was going on last night, Oct 24
around 5-6 pm.
I had , what looked like a SWAT team in front of my house,
and police at the end of East Ave and Locust,
I saw nothing in the paper, but could have missed it.
anyone see anything, or know anything??

thanks
just concerned.
as I stood on my porch, no one said 'get inside it's not safe out here'

I live on East Ave. It was the street sweeper cleaning the streets, not a swat team.

What about the police presence last night up off of Wash Ave/ Mont Valla? About a dozen city officers, marked/unmarked cars, and the SWAT team..... No mention in the paper or NBC25

i think we would have gotten more up to date news if they would have kept the evening paper, looks like now we get yesterdays news or the day before that, if your lucky enough to even get a paper, this paper thing is bad, real bad.

YES!!! i do know! i was driving by, and i saw the new "sherriff" cars... theyre like dodge avengers or something. i was stopped at the redlight, and one of the officers went up to a door of a townhouse, knocked, and then ducked around the side of the house. i was getting ready to park close, as our pool league was playing at friendly's.. i was gonna walk the distance instead of parking in the lot. ANYWAYS, the officer waved us over, and he asked us who we were and where we lived. then he asked if we were waiting on anyone else... we told him no, our team would be meeting inside. then he advised us to park elsewhere and not mosey about the streets. ( like i "mosey" ever. lol) then 3 or 4 more of them ( these ones WERE swat looking) began to surround the buildong and give hand signals. or maybe they were throwing up gang signs. who knows. lol. before we knew it there were stealthy police cars EVERYWHERE we looked. we took the advice and went inside.

ohhh i love when they play cops and robbers like that, all dressed up in their "hell let's go to war" outfits. Puffed up chests, kevlar helmets and airsoft rifles...

Glad they told you to be safe and go inside.
After a hard day of work, I came right home, put on my pj's,
and very old fashioned bathrobe, I must of looked a site, but no one told me to get inside.
guess they could tell I wasn't going to 'mosey' around the streets in my bathrobe.

I actually tried to attach a pic,
but guess it didn't work,

I did say, you must really need a good laugh, but then when the pic
was added, who knows where it is...out in cyber space.

Charlie Dutch
I know what it was, they were looking for the bank robbers that they don't have a complete description of!

id sure like to know why the police have to knock a door off the hinges to get in to a house?? thats over doing it i think they do it to have a little fun, but some one has to buy a new door for the house, maybe the city should be billed for this kind of crazy stuff,
Yossarian
They knock first, if they get no answer, then wham bam.

Though I guess they probably should come back at a more convenient time.

Everyone breaks things on the job from time to time. The only problem is it's our stuff they are breaking! laugh.gif

I think they have been watching too much Law & Order shows...

I remember the police knocked down a neighbor's fence & pinned the owner up against the house & then another cop car pulled up & they all left in a hurry--turned out they were on the wrong street...meanwhile his fence was wrecked and he had to change his shorts... tongue.gif smile.gif
