Ground Beef Under Recall Reported by: Jennifer Von Reuter
Saturday, Nov 3, 2007 @06:29pm EST
NBC25 NEWS – More than 1-million pounds of ground beef is being recalled because it may be contaminated with E-Coli.

Federal inspectors said the meat was produced at a Car-Gill Meat Plant in Pennsylvania. The meat was then sent to retailers nationwide, including supermarket chains Giant, Shop Rite, Stop-and-Shop, and Weis markets.

The recall affects various types of ground beef with a "use-freeze by" date between October 19th and November 3rd. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

You should check your freezer to see if you have any of the recalled items and return them or throw them away. According to Car-Gill, the states affected by the recall include Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia

Regardless of recalls or whatever, always cook your meat to the right temperature. Ya never know when this bug is in the meat.

You do not want this bug. Don't ask me how I know.

I don't buy hamburger like that, never seen hamburger packed that way.
Or I just don't pay attention.

I do shop at Weis, but I never seen that before either.

Like snoopy said, always make sure you cook your food right at the right temp.
Commom sense should tell a person that.

In my early post I meant to say, I never seen a label like that. silly me:)
Probably in a white container with the label on top?

I was looking around the store after I got home, looking
for similar products.

I usually just buy what's in the meat case, that's package by the store I'm going to.

With all this prepackage food being brought in, I don't feel safe buying it.
First it was the fresh leaf spinach in the bag, then it's something else.

Wonder what food product going to be next. darn

Packaged might be better. They can't take it off the shelf, unpack it and mix it in with fresh meat. laugh.gif ph34r.gif

That may well be true, but that part isn't funny. The store's shouldn't be aloud to do that.

But ever since I been grocery shopping I never had a problem, thank goodness. smile.gif

Ground Beef Under Recall

Ah just another reason why I stick to my Bocca Burger crumbles or ground turkey on occasion!
