NBC25 NEWS – More than 1-million pounds of ground beef is being recalled because it may be contaminated with E-Coli.
Federal inspectors said the meat was produced at a Car-Gill Meat Plant in Pennsylvania. The meat was then sent to retailers nationwide, including supermarket chains Giant, Shop Rite, Stop-and-Shop, and Weis markets.
The recall affects various types of ground beef with a "use-freeze by" date between October 19th and November 3rd. So far, no illnesses have been reported.
You should check your freezer to see if you have any of the recalled items and return them or throw them away. According to Car-Gill, the states affected by the recall include Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia
