Hey everybody! I will be moving my business (a small office about 750 sq. ft.) in December, from one office in the heart of downtown to another one about a block away. This time I wanna do it RIGHT, i.e., hire a professional to haul all my stuff. But I don't know which local moving companies are reliable and which ones aren't. Does anyone have a recommendation? Also, any ideas as to how much is reasonable for a mover to charge? Like I said it's only a block, but both spaces are second floor offices, and there's no elevator in either building. sad.gif So I know that's a strike against me as far as movers go. Any info. is appreciated. biggrin.gif

Clever,
Alot of local companys use Hilkers Office moving Co. They wrap all furniture with plastic wrap as not to scratch it.
give them a call at 301-842-3566. I used them to move us to our new house. They did a great job and was very careful with our things.

Wow, thanks so much for the quick feedback, Coma and McGee. biggrin.gif I've also just gotten a good recommendation from someone who stopped in here -- Nathan's Dependable Hauling. I didn't realize it but they just moved my accountant neighbor out of the building a few weeks ago. McGee, did you think that Hilker's charged a reasonable price? I have no idea what the going rate for a mover is nowadays. In the back of my head I'm thinking less than $1,000. but perhaps I'm unrealistic. It's three rooms plus a vestibule and a bath that I'm moving out of.

Coma, I thought Labor Ready was a place that hired out day laborers? Do I need to habla espanol??? ::looks for upside down question mark on keyboard:: wink.gif
