They only filmed 7 episodes period. They were done long before teh strike. CBS said if they get good ratings they will renew for a full third season. If they don't these are the last episodes.

At least they're giving the show a fair shake. I never did go back and watch the last 3 eps. Maybe I'll try to catch up on the CBS website.

You should watch them very good and if you don't you won't understand in the least what is going on when the new shows start. They were really good. BTW the first season is out on DVD.

7 episodes is the whole season, no matter what? If it does great we wait another year for any more episodes?

HBO and FX made me realize a few years back that 8-12 quality episodes are better than having a 22 episode season run with a handful of good ones, a bunch of so-so ones, and the rest crap.

CBS said if they get good ratings they will renew it for a regular season 3 at 22 episodes. I plan to watch but also watch online because CBS is going to take that into account.
Tell your friends so we can get the ratings up.

Anyone watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles?
Yep, I'm hooked.
Not so much on the "story", but Sarah has always been my favorite "mom".
I love the "do anything to save my child" storyline.
Bet nobody shouts HER down at the PTA meetings!

The Tivo is set in case I don't make it to10pm, plus it conflicts with Nip/Tuck. I took your advice and grabbed the last couple eps off DVD from Netflix, so I'm caught up.

I got around to watching it last night. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.
I like the Army bigwig who used to be a squad Lt. on NYPD Blue. I like that Super Jake kept his streak of heroism intact by tackling that Newbern gunman in town like it was just another day at the office.

I'm still a little confused with the storyline involving Hawkins, the cute black chick operative that was killed last season, and the bald guy from DHS.

Somewhere, I got the impression that this is all taking place 3 years after the bombing, that doesn't make sense though. Maybe I misunderstood something somewhere.
Esai Morales played a great part in NYPD Blue, and it looks like he'll live up to his reputation here.
I get the impression, though, that Esai is on the bad guys team. Not the New Bern bad guys, but the government bad guys.
My thoughts too, good but not great. But waiting....
I didn't realize that the show comes on the same time as Boston Legal (which I never miss). That's a tough spot to put Jericho into.

I think it was 3-4 months into the future.
The show seems to have lost some of its edge, which I think came from the daily post-attack life-and death struggle when there was no government help of any kind. I'm still watching, but less excitedly.

I agree. I understand going for the shock of a surprise death, but come on. He was a big part of the show and it's not like his character had run it's course. There would have been plenty of ways to fit him in the current storyline.

I do really like the show but you can tell how bad CBS has cut their budget and forced them to tell the stories in a short period of time. My best guess is CBS doesn't want the show to succeed for whatever reason and by giving it the slot they did and making the cuts they want the fans to leave. It is really a shame because it was and can be agood show.

SPOILER****** If you haven't watched yet.
You can watch it online but here is the spoiler for anyone who didn't read or see it. Bonnie Richmond the deaf girl shot it out with ravenwood goons trying to protect Mimi who also got shot. Bonnie killed three with her 12 guage before they killed her. Now Mimi is in bad shape and they are going to try and protect her.
Excellent show last night reminded me of the first seasdon although seeing the girl killed was as shocking as seeing the Mayor killed. I really think CBS is ending the show the rating haven't been good I am had hoped they would have given it a prime slot during the writers strike. They didn't and that told me they don't want it. Hopefully SCi-Fi will pick it up.

I'm caught up to all but last week's ep. I noticed the preview at the end of the last one I watched said "Don't miss the first of the final two episodes of the season." Of wonder if they are reconsidering or if that was just generic tv-speak?

Rumor has it already canceled. Everyone is hoping Sci-Fi picks it up.
Update CBS canceled Jericho tonight. Tuesday will be the last unless another network picks it up.

Everyone has that attitude. I already wrote CBS and told them I am not watching any other programs on their network. I intend to stick to it to. They only have one other program I watch anyway.
The fans are trying to get Sci-FI to make season 3 it has a chance of being picked up by someone the producers haven't given up.

Okay, given the fact that this show may not make it; may not be picked up by SciFi or USA or Turner or Fox, or whoever, I think the writers did a pretty damn decent job of ending the final episode.
You can't close it in the event that it is picked up. You need to leave something hanging. Though they did a quick "get the bomb to Texas as fast as you can", there were some things in Texas that could further the conspiracy. The guy in Texas that was taking custody of the bomb.. I'm not sure he was all on the side of the Texans.
The way it ended, I can walk away from the show comfortably, if no one ever picks it up. Yet, if someone does pick it up, I will be there watching the first episode.
Television networks have canceled a lot of really good intelligent shows and replaced them with mindless drivel; but I'm certainly not going to boycott CBS or any other network, because they failed to renew a show.

I am boycotting not because they canceled the show. I am boycotting because of the actions of Nina Tassler and the lies that she told the fans. We were told to go out recruit people and get publicity for the show. We were told CBS would follow through on their end if we did all of this for them. I think you have too admit the fans got lots of publicity for CBS.
What did CBS do for their "support"? They cut characters from the show, only order 7 episodes and told the producers they had to do the whole 22 episode second season in 7 or it wasn't a deal. they moved the time slot from an early hour to 10pm. They also had numerous chances while they were looking for shows during the strike to put Jericho in a good time slot without displacing anything.
My personal opinion is that CBS lied, set the show up to fail and only renewed it because they looked stupid to the world. That is why I am boycotting CBS. If they fire Nina Tassler I might reconsider but until then I am done with them.
