Whether you like the game or not, the Super Bowl is an excuse to get together, eat some junk food, maybe have a beer or seven. I'm not hosting, but this is what I'm bringing.

QUOTE

Carnivore Queso

1 crock pot
1 lb. velveeta
1 lb. hamburger or 1 lb. sausage (maybe both if you are really into meat)
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 jar picante sauce

Pull apart meat into small pieces and brown. Break up into tiny parts and drain.

Put all ingredients into crock pot and cook on high for 2 hours, stirring ocasionally.

Dip your favorite chip and enjoy.

i make the same, but omit the cream of mushroom.

i'm making homemade wings... lots of them.

QUOTE
for approximately 1 large pack ( 30-36 wings)

1 bottle ranch dressing
1 bottle bbq sauce
1/2 bottle-1 bottle tobasco sauce ( depending on how hot you want them)

combine over low heat...

dip separated wings in sauce, place on baking tray uncovered, 375 oven for 45 mins-1 hour...

meanwhile, bring leftover sauce to boil, low boil for 1 hour, to cook off raw chicken that might be in sauce

remove wings from oven, place in large bowl, dump leftover sauce over cooked wings... let stand 20 mins.

enjoy

Who's playing?? I'm not a football fan either, but I'll make some stuff (SMan's recipe is on my list now!!) and have some teens over. Gotta do wings, that's a given.

Now, when is the Superbowl exactly?? huh.gif

PS. McGee, I just had deer bologna this past weekend for the first time. Man, it was good!

Super Bowl? What's that? biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif
Great commercials though...

I do love all the menu ideas, please continue. I have pen at hand and will take notes. Love fun snack ideas for get togethers w/ family & friends.

Oh, thanks! That's sooner than I thought.

Tom Petty is #2 son's favorite. He should like that!

burn - the cream of mushroom keeps the cheese more "fluid" and it doesn't get so gummy. I LOVE wings, but I can never get them to turn out right at home, so I've made them strictly a dining out treat.

tx - I had that at a cookout over the summer and have unsuccessfully been trying to get my co-worker who made it to remember to bring me the recipe. Thanks!

My plan of action is as follows, step 1, fill the cooler full of beer. Step 2; visit every friend’s house that is hosting a gathering. Step 3, eat whatever is free… you can’t be picky about menu selections when you are party hopping. ;o)

It's just another Sunday to me because of the teams in it. I will watch replays and commericals online afterwards and hear all about it Monday at work. LOL I will cheer for the Giants but I wont be watching.

I'm hoping to be at home. I have work and school the next day.

I did have a night of learning football with my boyfriend though. I understand it now, though it's still not very interesting. There's this argument we have though...I'll post it in sports I guess.
Yossarian
Heather... ask your boyfriend to take you to a chick flick at the movies when the superbowl is on... that'll show how much he thinks of you.

football.. blahhh... I'll catch all the commercials on some web site the next day.

But all those people interested in the Super Bowl, have a great time and enjoy! Just be careful driving home afterwards.

Yoss, this is the same guy I've been dating for years, on and off...there are no tests of what he thinks of me left. They are well established. I might be able to divert his attention from the Super Bowl if I said, "I have tix to next year's Super Bowl." And only if I said it loudly right in his ear...twice. He just played golf yesterday, in the rain and cold. wacko.gif

Come on, you non-football watchers must still have some good junk party food recipes laying around.
SMan
My dip was the hit of the party. I used 2% Velveeta and deer burger to bring the fat and calorie content down to a manageable level. I did have a little bit of hot sausage ground up in it also to give a little kick. Next time I make it, I might add a little more picante sauce.
