I've been thrown into sports situations and atmospheres in my 31 years, so I've developed a loose loyality to certain teams for certain reasons. My dad was always a Green Bay packers fan and a New York Yankees fan. He's been a fan of these teams since he was playing with dirt and pulling girl's pony tails. Grandma has the pictures to prove it!
As the years passed, I acquired some clothing items with these logos only because you need a ballcap to run to the grocery store or just because a big, comfy hoodie is comfy and warm when you're cold. Yet still, sometimes I got fiesty with it and if someone asked me which team I was rooting for, I'd talk smack or w00t for "my" team. Meh, who cares though?
Cut to now. Apparently there is a rule set in stone amongst y'all sports fans that you are not allowed to like an away team unless you are from there. wtf? This "rule" or rather, test of integrity, is shared by my boyfriend, his hombres, and most every Htown sports fan. wtf is up with y'all? Is this universal and what are the precise rules?
Scottie says, "if you are a Yankees fan, you are either from there, a girl or you're on a bandwagon." That's actually paraphrasing. He infamously says something else, but I can't remember it exactly.
My dad has been a fan of The Pack and The Yanks since he was wee little! "No good."
Scottie got me a pale, pink Orioles hat for Christmas.
Your thoughts. Keep in mind, it's poll-ish.
