Well we got a good new chinese buffet in Pacific Ocean the other week. I love it great food and even better service. Prices are good also.

On a sad note the 31st is the last day for Efrain's they have sold out and are closing tomorrow. I have lost my favorite Mexican place.

I tried to like Efrain's, but just couldn't get into it. I guess I'm too hooked on the greasy tex mex places.

That's sad to hear Efrain's is going out of business. But it don't suprise me I know Efrain personally I used to work with him for over 8 year's. This man is alway's looking for a quick buck at the cost of other's. I like him don't get me wrong, But Fact is he's one of the most dishonest person's alive. Watch out. !!!!!

That was the place by Weis, right? We went there a few times and they told us many things they were going to put on the menu, which never appeared...after a few times of this and a few surprises on my order--not lethal, just not what I ordered--I said, oh well..
hagopinion
Wow Tony you really liked Pacific place? I am been there twice and the only thing that I really enjoyed was the sushi. Besides that I think the Chinese place at Weis is the best around. As for the Mexican place at Weis, I thought it was a cheap version of Chipolte. Sorry not impressed with either place.

Now that Brazilian place in MB that you were talking about that is another story. I am very excited in getting to MB in May.

Well, I guess this is as good a place as any to let everyone know we're pulling out of the downtown in the next few months. Bones & Cones has been negotiating with potential lessors in a couple of local places and has been courted by a couple of other towns, but I suspect we still going to be close by. The Antique store, however, is consolidating stock to it's Frederick location and will be putting more focus on internet sales.

NO NO NO NO NO NO...Stamps foot and whines........I am sad. Now I feel bad, I had just mentioned another bakery. I love the Antique Shop, I got my daughter a very affordable cameo pin she wanted. They have very unique gifts to mark special occasions.
And if my dog had teeth, i promise I would of purchased a doggy treat from Bones and Cones.
SMan
When? I know you said next few months, but I have a doggy birthday toward the end of February and was counting on another B&C cake. cool.gif
ChipStewart
One of the new locations we're in negotiations with has more than twice the square footage and may have a separate doggy room so you can bring in your K9 companions. We're also considering expanding our gourmet offerings.

Wishing you the best, Chip! Let us know where you move to. I would have stopped by, many times, already, but there's never any where to park and it's too cold to walk too far.

If you get a new location with parking lot in front, I'll be there!!

SMan - we'll still be open then. Even if we weren't, we'd make arrangements for you!

Oh, there's ample parking. But you're right, that is one of the issues at our current location.

Did you eat at Pacific Ocean in the first couple of week they were open? It is funny I have talked to several people who have hated it and all were in there in the first couple of weeks. I have been there four times and haven't found anything bad yet. Some of my more picky friends also like it.

You will like Rioz if you you don't you should give up food. It along with the Tobacco Company in Richmond are my 2 favs anywhere.

I will have to give Pacific Ocean another try. I was there in the beginning. Hell maybe tomorrow for lunch. Also, I might check out Tobacco Company on the way to MB as well. Is that the place with the prime rib?

Yes, your memory serves you well. If you like spice get your Prime Rib blackened it is spectacular and remember they give you seconds on the prime rib at the Tobacco Company.

I think my wife would argue with the memory thing, of course unless it has to do with food.

I noticed on my way to the office this morning there's a sign for a new Greene Turtle sports bar on Eastern Boulevard, across from the Food Lion. Too bad they couldn't have been lured downtown.
wildblue
I agree that it would have been a good idea to put the Greene Turtle downtown. Frederick has one downtown, and it seems to be doing well.
LOOKY LOU
Anyone been to the Thai place in MB?
hagopinion
Is the advertisement for the Green Turtle for the place in Frederick or are we getting one as well?
ChipStewart
Yes, Eastern Avenue, between LJ's and the Food Lion.
hagopinion
Damn Chip you just made my day.
hagopinion
Just spoke with someone with some more details. Stated that it will in fact open across the street from Foodlion. It will be very large and look like Cole Field House. Can't wait. Hopefully be like Ocean City and have $1.00 Natty Bo cans.

I think it is 5.99 for lunch and 9.99 for dinner or on Sunday. They have the Sushi bar and the grill all of the time and at night have crab legs and shrimp.

and Tony was correct it has improved. Went there last night and it was YUM YUM good.

Anyone hear anything about Green Turtle? Was at a meeting two weeks ago and was told that Green Turtle ownership had falling out with developers and have pulled out of the agreement.
Yossarian
The sign is gone, but I just chalked that up to the construction, thinking maybe it got in the way.

Green Turtle website doesn't have Hagerstown listed as a future location anymore.

Greene Turtle to open at Hagerstown's Stone House Square

Restaurant owner had planned to build on Eastern Boulevard

By ANDREW SCHOTZ (andrews@herald-mail.com)

A new restaurant proposed for Eastern Boulevard is going elsewhere.

Frank Illiano said Wednesday that he will open a Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille at the Stone House Square shopping center on Leitersburg Pike.

Illiano discussed his plan with the Washington County Board of License Commissioners, which is commonly known as the liquor board.

He told the board he plans to apply for a liquor license soon.

Illiano said afterward that he'll seek a license to serve beer, wine and liquor.

Construction probably will start at the end of June and the restaurant could open by the end of the year, he said.

Illiano told the liquor board in February he planned to open an 8,500-square-foot Greene Turtle on Eastern Boulevard, across from the Al Pomodoro restaurant, according to a Herald-Mail account at the time.

I'm glad its going in the Stone House Square. Although Eastern Blvd is literally right down the street from me, it's a nightmare and I avoid it at all costs.

The Stone House Square is turning out to be pretty nice! I've made several trips out there.

The Greek place across from mickey d's on nothern avenue is not bad. his sandwiches are good as is the greek stuff. biggrin.gif
