Chavez Threatens US Oil Cutoff
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Hugo Chavez on Sunday threatened to cut off oil sales to the United States if Exxon Mobil Corp. wins court judgments to seize billions of dollars in Venezuelan assets.
"If you end up freezing (Venezuelan assets) and it harms us, we're going to harm you," Chavez said. "Do you know how? We aren't going to send oil to the United States. Take note, Mr. Bush, Mr. Danger."
Of course who benefits the most if Venezuela cuts off oil to the U.S.? Exxon Mobil Corp.
In 1952 the democratically elected prime minister of Iran seized the oil resources from BP and nationalized them. The CIA then overthrew the government and placed Shaw Reza Pahlavi into power where he then un-nationalized the oil resources and ruled Iran with an iron first until 1979. Thousands of Iranian citizens were murdered under the shaw.
We all see how that worked out.
