Well, you won't be able to get in this store for a while I bet. Maybe the crush of cutomers will decrease at the one at the mall.

hopefully its relieves some of the traffic at the martinsburg location! i made the mistake of going in there on a friday evening a few weeks ago, and i felt sorry for anyone who has to shop there regularly. i think i'd drive to hagerstown, too. i think a lot of it may have had to do with the money center they have in there, though... seems there were A LOT of people milling about the front of the store waiting to get in there and cash checks... i guess friday is payday, and its tax season, to boot.
does the new location have one of those handy money centers as well??

Hey, thanks for posting this. We've been wondering when it was going to open. I need to pick up a new desktop PC and Wal-Mart carries the one I've been thinking of picking up. When I check the Wal-Mart wedsite, it looks like its sold out at most of the stores around here.
This should relieve some of the customer traffic at the Hagerstown store.
Additionally you can go back to your roots and return to pouring through T-Shirts looking for Nazi propaganda.

I think the whole shopping center is going to do alot of business where it's located. A guy that works with hubby says that the MickeyD thats there is swamped every day. He lives in the area and goes past it twice a day. I REALLY want a Home Depot to open in that exit area! Just to give the one Lowes a run for their money. They have the monopoly and it's a pain in the rear to go there or to have to drive all the way to the Centre. The only other nearest HD is in Ranson clear over in Jefferson county.( besides, if a HD opens here I'll be one of those old biatches in the gardening dept that you'll have to deal with!!! he he he...)
I am glad that the shopping center is there tho. We really did need something on this end of town. And I know the traffic is gonna be he!!, but I'll just take the back way over.

I won't have as many lights to deal with.
OMG! Bent! I just noticed the avatar! LMAO!!!!!! too funny!

I'm not familiar with it either, Burn, and I only moved away 8 months ago. That's how fast they are paving over the Earth in that area.

We drove past the new WalMart last night. The parking lot looked as packed as the one in Martinsburg does.
Hopefully, that's because it's brand new and they had some sales. The location is really convenient for me, but if it stays that crowded, I'll avoid it like I do the one in Martinsburg.

And you're right WVD, the Mickey D's is very popular there. Long line at the drive-thru and lots of cars in the parking lot. But, right now, it's the only fast food in that area, isn't it. I think there's a Dominos on the other side of 81 but that's it.

Exit 20/ Spring Mills area. Where the old Truck Stop and the I81 Flea Market used to be.
I haven't been past there for a number of weeks. There is a strip mall type shopping center right next to the Walmart. A MickeyD right in front on SpringMills road. I've been told by a girl that works at the one in Hag, that we're getting a Michael's Craft store( OMG!!!) at the same exit, but I don't know exactly where.

if you get a michaels, i hope they'll take the 40% off coupons from the franklin shopper each week! the one in hagerstown honors the weekly 40%'s from ac moore as well. very handy... the catch is its 40% off one item that isnt already marked down, but hey... i can always find something i need that isn't on sale!

I only go to Walmart anywhere if I ABSOLUTELY have to. You just can't beat their prices on some things thats for sure. Like my sports bras. Why pay a gouged price for something that I'm gonna be out of ( too big) in a few weeks? Doesn't make sense to me. And we go there to get new batteries for our watches. Guess I'm going to have to brave the people and check the place out.
You know, it wouldn't surprise me if a another BK goes in there. The only other one anywhere near that area is the one in Hedg. Just glad to see some jobs come to the area. ANY jobs.

Popped in there today on the way to Sam's Club this morning. It was packed. geesh. what the hell did they all do before it was there?

Theres a small strip mall type place just beside the MickeyD's and so far the sign says that theres
a nail salon
a Pizza Montese(?)
a Cleaners
and a Mattress Warehouse was unloading stock when I was there.
There plenty of room for more strip mall buildings behind that one.

OMG.!!!!
This is for the records here. I'm agreeing with the dragon. I too hate walmart. We go to the Hagerstown one and we've noticed a major drop in crowds since they opened the one in Waynesboro. But I'm sure this will help ease our's here. Thank God. You just can't beat their prices and for that I tolerate it. MY WIFE MAKES ME GO. Our son say's that they will be selling beer but he didn't see any when he was there this morning. Checking prices so I can smuggle that too. LOL.....
On a serious note though why the hell would they put in more fast food places anywhere? Fat is out!!! go for walks loose the pounds fast food is not healthy for anyone. Seems as when they build a major strip mall that's all they want to stuff in is fast food places. Don't get me wrong but they took junk food and soda's out of the school systems here in Maryland so why can't they cut the build on these fast food places? I'd like to know who is on the planning commission's of these type of shopping centers, They should be limited as to what, how many, and those issues of fast food places being put in. I realize the we all get hungry while out shopping till we drop but with these fast food places in our faces there's no wonder that people with weight disorders gorge while out shopping. It's there!!! Tempting, Calling them in. For God sakes take the level of them down.

Or you could take personal responsibility.
Last I checked, no one's forcing you to eat anywhere.

Yoss,
That's very much so true. But think of the effect's that some folks go through to try and avoid those places. Now me I have to watch my diet due to Cholesterol intake. Yeah I'm a bad one for it. And for the record I'm only 148 lbs. Not the typical stereo type you would seem to think as having any problems. I about rolled over when they told me a few year's back after my heart attack what my level was. Prepare yourself for this 621 at the time of my heart attack. Yes I had the angio plasty done. Now to the current moment I watch my diet very close. Thanks to my wife she's found diets on the net that allows me to eat beef again, So to speak, the secret is in how you do it. I don't eat anything fried anymore and I will not go into fast food place's unless we take the Grandson's. For me going into Micky D's is a killer. I love their Double quarter pounders. But I simply can not have them or fries or ect.... I think you get it. Me I hate Burger king my wife loves them.
What I'm trying to point out is to get more family style cooked meals type restaurant's going into these strip mall's that's popping up everywhere. For a person with weight issues and they're trying all they can these fast food places are just in their faces and I feel it's impossible for them to resist. Hell my mouth waters when I pass Micky D's. But like you said I have to take my own responsibility for it. I darn sure ain't going for another heart attack and I personally feel better then ever now. I no longer take any type of med's for the Cholesterol and nothing for my heart. It's all been Diet, control, and exercise. I walk an average 2 miles per day if my leg's will allow me too, and I stay clear of all junk foods. It's what I have to do and the funny thing is now if we go out to eat and I get a steak and it's not done on open flames or grilled it taste weird to me.

ok. checked out the grocery section today. YES there is beer and wine. Half the isle is beer and wine.
Their milk is .20cents cheaper than the Food Lion's. Their cage free eggs are $2.29 which are the same price as brown eggs at Martins.Their produce section didn't look that great IMO.little fresh greens, mostly bagged. their bottled water was .06cents cheaper than both Weis and martins.
They have the Optical there. And a hair salon and nail salon next to each other up front. Theres a deli store and a pizza place up front also.
There is more room in the store but they have less stock it seems. It's conveinent I'll give it that.

I went for the first time tonight. The toy section is sparse (grandson turns 2 this week). But it wasn't crowded and they have a subway so I picked up a quick dinner on the way out. Did a quick walk through the grocery section and was tempted by the oatmeal raisin cookies but resisted.
The pet section has everything we would need which is handy.
I definitely like it better than the one in Martinsburg.
(And still the Mickey D's is packed. Amazing.)
