It didn't seem that way when I was living there several years ago... I guess I need to make my way back there.

If that's the one guided by John Schildt...that is definitely the one to go on. I went with his group about 10 years ago, had the best time of my life. The French people in Normandy area really like Americans, and still appreciate what we did for them back in WWII. If you want any details, feel free to PM me. John's a historian for the 29th Division and really provides a fantastic tour.

I am a total war buff - from the Revolutionary to Vietnam. My grandfather got a purple heart in WWII - suffered from the mental injuries until the day he died - but was a purple heart kinda of guy. Do anything for anyone. The stories he would tell... Once you got him to open up. Needless to say, there were days that he wouldn't even utter a word about the horror...

I checked, Jeff Driscoll is leading the tour.
Checkingin
I'm leaving for Paris one month from tomorrow. Hubby's uncle was at Normandy so he may take us there. Says he (and his french wife) have a whole agenda for us of things to do. So we'll see. I am most excited about going to Monet's home and gardens. Can't wait.

Checkingin, that sounds wonderful. That is great you have people from there, or who have been there, making suggestions on what to see. It will make for an extra special experience. I have never been to France, it would be a nice trip. Enjoy. biggrin.gif
