By far one of my favorite programs. I work with all kinds of equipment and the show just appeals to me because I get to see how certain vehicles work. I love the ideals they come up with, for example, last week they turned a Corvette Stingray into a rock climber!!! That was insane. Really I like most of the shows coming on Discovery and TLC lately. All geared toward mechanics and people who like to build and rebuild things. Won't be long until shows like Monster Garage, Junkyard wars, Hot Rides, MythBusters, etc... all have their own channel.

It's one of my favs, too...I even own a t-shirt !!!

I like the way Monster House is becoming a bit more realistic
in their approach to things as well....American Chopper is another
show I don't like missing...
JimB.
I like American Chopper also. I don't know a thing about motorcycles, but just watching the father when he gets angry cracks me up!
Romulus
I get a kick outta the old man too Jim. laugh.gif

I love all those shows also. Paul Sr. just cracks me up because all he seems to do is complain and threaten to use his size 12 to motivate people. Have you seen the previews for the new show on Discovery that is starting later this month? It's called American Hot Rod and it shows a family hot rod business so you can see them fix up old cars and yell and scream at each other. I think I would like this show better because I am more into cars than motorcycles.
Romulus
I'm salivating for that show too Slager. I love loud and mean looking cars. Give me any 67-69 Camaro and I'll be happy

I really enjoy American Chopper. My only complaint is that on some really heated episodes, the constant yelling and arguing between Paul Sr./Jr. starts to grate on my nerves after about 30-40 minutes. The last few episodes I've seen have started to incorporate the other son (the goofy, long-haired one) more into the show. I wasn't into him at first, but he's starting to grow on me. The Christmas tree he made with Paul Sr.'s head on top was hilarious.
slager
His other son is Mike or Mikey. He once joked that he had undiagnosed ADD, which I believe because he has no attention span and gets distracted easily. Paul Sr. seems to let him get away with more stuff than Paul Jr. and Paul Sr. justs laughs it off after yelling at him when Mike does something stupid.

The constant yelling does get annoying after a while, you wonder how anybody can get any work done with all the yelling. It doesn't accomplish anything except to make everyone angry.

I was disappointed in American Chopper.....I was expecting helicopters!!! Oh well, guess I'll just stick to Discovery Wings channel and shut up now!

Moms, you so crazy! wink.gif

I'm into discovery wings channel too. I really love the show that comes on about the Soviet Union fighters and bombers during WW2. Red Star or something like that.

Monster Garage is to men as what Trading Spaces is to women. biggrin.gif

I really like Mythbusters, though!
Romulus
I like Mythbusters too. Last one I saw was pretty gross. They were trying to prove the "If someone dies in a car, you can never sell it because of the smell" theory. They took a dead pig and set it up in a prestine '85 Corvette Stingray and stored the car in a trailer for 1 month!! When they got the car out, the pig had liquified and ruined the whole interior. They stripped out all the seats and fabric, but still had the smell of rotting flesh in the car. You know what? Someone bought it for 2000 clams! Not a bad deal if you just want the motor.
txexpatriot
Gee-why did they need to prove that? All they had to do was call an insurance company & speak to an adjuster who has dealt with this issue...the vehicle is sold for parts...only....dessicated flesh does not 'air out'....
I like mythbusters once in awhile--but their methodology is rather antedotal than sciencetific...so my son thinks its great, but I have a tendency to pick apart their 'experiments'...
One show that I find funny is Monster House--good grief people are nuts! Unless I was rich & did not care I would not let this freaks into my home...they made a pub out of a house, and a castle out of one...

They oughta get the death penalty for THAT!

That's the only thing I don't like about Monster Garage - the way they tear apart perfectly good vehicles. What they do with them is cool, but I'd be happier if they started with something that was near the end of it's useful lifetime.
BKB
Jeez BMIC, for a second I thought you were a PITA fanatic! I thought you were worried about the dead pig, NOT the vette! shooooo!

I think those guys like to use pigs for their experiments, did you see the pop rocks pig stomach episode? That was pretty funny!
