If I remember correctly, wasn't one of the the brothers mentally handicapped? Why would they hold a mentally handicapped man responsible for taking care of someone else - especially when he is the sole monetary provider in the household? I remember them saying he worked as a janitor while his brother pretty much freeloaded.

This just doesn't seem right... sad.gif

I'd like to know how you go from a second-degree murder charge to a misdemeanor offense. And in the end, neither brother is held accountable. Wow.

The brother who is not handicapped, whichever he is... should be held accountable. That poor old man died in horrible conditions & his death should not be shrugged off.

The same judge sentenced the piece of trash who raped a 13 year old girl to only 4 years in prison....one year less than the prosecution recommended - 10 years was the maximum allowed http://www.herald-mail.com/?cmd=displaysto...amp;format=html and let another thug off the hook even though she plead guilty to a felony- with no jail time, just probation and go back into the same job field, doing the same type of work in which the crime was committed in order to pay restitution. Even though the prosecutor asked that she be forbidden from working in home health care anymore. http://www.herald-mail.com/?cmd=displaysto...amp;format=html.

Wow... why are people in power able to get away with this kind of stuff? This doesn't sound like justice to me... but I'm naive.

That is one of those questions people have been asking for centuries. I wouldn't say your naive when it comes to wanting the judicial system to work, it should, it's supposed to. Circuit Court judges are elected/appointed to 15 year terms so we'll have to wait until 2013 to see if anything is changed.

Rapists are often repeat sex crime offenders and they should be sentenced for life. Time and time again the justice system fails the people that it supposedly serves when it comes to sex crime offenders.

And yeah, if the non-handicapped brother was responsible for his father's death, he should certainly be facing a much tougher sentence. Not only did he kill the guy, but it sounds like a merciless, painful death.
