I think this board needs a does anyone know post for people who are curious as to when or what something will be. heres mine.
Does anyone know what is going directly beside Walmart in Hagerstown it is a Myers Building Systems project? I heard a car dealership does anyone know what kind of car dealership or if this will be something else? Also Does anyone know when the JBGR-Villages at Hagerstown as well as the Coldwell Banker William Bennett- Lifestyle center begin construction and what stores/restaurants are going to be in these shopping centers/pad sites? Thanks to anyone that knows.

Going directly beside Walmart will be the new Hagerstown Ford. I'm not sure when the Villages at Hagerstown by JBGR/Venetian Investments plans to start construction but the only thing I know that will be there for sure is an AC&T gas station/convenience store. The rest of it will be filled with restaurants, both fast food and sit down, a bank, and there will be a hotel. As far as the Coldwell Banker thing, I'm not even sure what that is. Hope that helped a little. I'll put up a link for the Villages at Hagerstown development.

So complain directly to the developers, don't take it out on the members who are merely asking for information. Not that you or Dodge did that, I'm just saying it would be nice to be civil in the responses.

Robotic responses and that picture is reminiscent of The Jetsons, that quirky 60's cartoon. The robot reference jump started my return to The Jetson's theme song. Which reminded me of George Jetson's housekeeper, Rosie the robot. Did you know she only appears in two episodes of the original 1960s show, excluding her appearance in the closing credits, but makes many appearances on the 1980s show. Her appearance in the credits imprinted on the viewers.
OK, back t topic: Rosie the robot was an example of civility, it was programmed into her memory bank. I think all suspended posters who have a chance of returning should watch old reruns of The Jetsons. it could bring us all together. Rosie can teach about civility. See how it all relates and comes together with one robot reference.
I kike the reruns of the original Jetsons, just clarifying, in case you are wondering.
Sorry, did not know how to respond to this thread, trying to be positive. I think I stayed or wandered back to topic.

Whoops, I thought we were talking civility, now I see it is a shopping mall thread. To that topic I will have to defer to my next ride on the county commuter. So that I can see what is building out there. Thanks for the graphic, the map was helpful. It is all laid out, wow. Guess many will be happy, it is inside Hagerstown city limits so that helps the tax base.

Soooooo, a fed-Ex terminal provides a batch of jobs maybe? R & L is a good firm, theres jobs. Diesel is over 4.00 a gal. See the trucks lined up over there 24/7. I cant imagine how much $$$ is taken in daily. I see where they had a drive off that was over 800.00!!! One dirty trucker. On the restaurant note this area needs to ban AYCE buffets. Its letting people kill themselves. JMO

Regarding AYCE restaurants.
Quite a few years ago, while on vacation, I saw a sign for "AYCE Shrimp", I promptly looked at my husband and said, "Hmm, wonder where AYCE Shrimp come from?" I'm kinda dumb sometimes.
And to further prove my point, on the same vacation I saw a sign with "SC Discounts", and wondered aloud "Why do South Carolina residents get a discount?" SC = Senior Citizens. Duh!
I'm so glad my husband is tolerant of my brain-farts.

Sorry MS, but I have to agree with others, it is getting VERY nuts with this kind of developement. See the Why should we allow this thread in the Washington County thread. Same situation on the Dual at Mt. Aetna, they are tearing down that really nice house and out buildigs, and all those wonderful well established trees there at the point for the sake of a Chik-Fil-A and a bank. Great.

Jels, IMO we are already at a mini-Frederick level. I fear it is only going to get worse. But some think we need this kind of development to show when can support higher paying tech/engineering/IT/etc. kind of jobs and employees. You know to lure them here, and then have them move here because of all the wonderful restaurants and shopping malls. But I guess we are to discuss this more, we should take it here....

The Coldwell Bank Bennett Williams developement is opposite best buy on the other side of Garland Groh. Here is what I don't understand and this is no offense to people here. Everyone here wants us to get high tech jobs like Frederick. Then almost are just as quick to complain about Hagerstown becoming a mini Frederick. Urban growth is what will bring in these higher tech jobs.

Techies @ Ritchie? Good plan. The "Greater Waynesboro Area" has alot of techie folks, I'm always amazed at the level of sophistication that little town has, of course, you've got to overlook a lot of bib-overalls and "brushes" to see them - but they're there.
It would be great to have an employment "complex" that didn't consist of fast food joints and cheap clothing stores.

Hagerstown is only growing with restaurants and shopping centers to support all the new residents that make the commute to DC Metro area for work. They make the big bucks in theie high tech jobs in the city, then come back over the mountain to spend their hard earned $$$. This is what our city has become . Qdoba and Bahama Breeze are both in Towson. Qdoba is a mexican restaurant chain like Chipotle but more selection to choose from like quesadillas. Bahama Breeze has great Lobster Pasta, Whattaburger is a Fast Food chain in the south. Jack in the Box is Southwest , White Castle is North East, I know everyone says we have enough but look at the waits to get in to some of these places we have such as Olive Garden its ridiculous or the wait to check out from Walmart.
