What do you all think about the Electronic Sign issue?

I think the issue is a bit silly. I have a hard time thinking Waynesboro is going to turn into Vegas. Although, I wish Ronnie's sign wasn't so bright.

This is just another example of people over-reacting, and fearing change. Waynesboro is a quaint little town, and it's old money people want to stay that way. I say let them have their stupid sign ordinance, and Main Street will continue to rollup the sidewalks at 5PM, so that the flippers of the world can do their stoop sitting.

Cities pass similar ordinances all of the time. I say let them do what they think is right. That Solicitor is an idiot. There's plenty of legal precedent for this and more.

It may seem like much ado about nothing, until some moron decides to do something totally inappropriate and everyone gets upset. Which has probably already happened and is why they are having these discusssions. I don't think it's silly at all. They need to have some sort of rules and they're trying to come up with something that makes sense.

Didnt they have some flap with Petes Bar sign in Sharpsburg? That was an individual I believe...

Unless I'm wrong, there is only 1 electronic sign in Waynesboro. To make such a fuss over 1 sign is silly, IMO.
