There's a great crafts show coming up in early February at the Fred Co fairgrounds - I just forget the name.
I went last year - my first such show ever - and I thought it was incredible! I could spend my life's savings on that stuff! (If I had any such savings.)
IMO it's a "must see"!

Yep that's it. Lookin' forward to it.
There's a web site for it. Not much of a web site, but here's the URL . . .
http://www.cabinfeverfestival.com/index.htmI spent most of my time looking at all of the crafts, but ended up spending most of my money on paintings by local artists.

No Thanks!! I've been there a number of times over the years and every year it gets worse! I'm not paying $6 to get stepped on,pushed around and driven over by baby buggies big enough to be shopping carts(which if you look carefully at thats what they pretty much are)!!
It's crazy down there! The people act like maniacs. You're standing in the booth (which by the way are too small) looking at the crafts and people just shove their way in there like they own *amn place.
Females drag along their men and children who DO NOT want to be there so of course the kids are crying or screaming and the men are standing around in the aisles with their collective thumbs up their *sses...I'm telling ya never again!
Go at your own risk and sanity.
Oh let me not forget to mention the ever poplular pass time of the ones gossiping in the doorways and the aisles.Oh,they're a LOVELY bunch of cocoNUTS!
Can ya start to get the idea that it's not worth the $6??

Very true it was very crowded.
Can you suggest other crafts festivals that have a good variety of vendors that aren't quite so overcrowded? When and where are they held?
Please if you know of any coming up that you think are any good, post them.
It seems the "Events" forums here are a vast wasteland. I don't get out much myself, so I don't know of much to post, but between the whole group here, we ought to be able to come up with more.

I find the Weekend section in the Post on Fridays to be helpful in finding offerings outside the area. I've seen some ads for craft shows in that area, assuming you don't mind the drive. I don't really go to any, aside from the Thurmont Colorfest, so I can't advise on the crowding issue. However, many of the vendors travel the circuit and could probably give you an idea of upcoming shows and their environments.
