BM may not be playing your game. He may even have you on ignore. But he will ALWAYS respond to anything you post that seems as if it might be contrary to what he thinks he might think about an issue...................................... laugh.gif biggrin.gif

Way to make fun of other people's religions B, doesn't Jesus have a problem with that, or is Christianity the ONLY religion.

I hope people know I'm kidding when I make comments like that...

Sorry, I didn't realise that your harsh criticism of me was all just a joke. If it was truly that innocent then I missed it. Again, sorry and let's move on.

I hope you realize my reference to the movie "Team America World Police" was purely because the whole discussion reminded me of it and it's parody of terrorism and our sometimes emotional responses to it. All of the hysteria over this apparent faux pas is really quite funny on one level, while on another it is somewhat disturbing to be left wondering if maybe there isn't the slightest, tiniest risk that it wasn't just a faux pas. All of which reminds me of that movie.

To understand Team America World Police references it my be helpful to read the following, I would suggest googling a trailer or ordering from Netflix.

It surprised the producers when some were laughing uncontrollably, and others were walking out in between bursts of hysterical laughter. So it is not surprising a reference here would get mixed results, the movie was evidently like that. You loved it or were saying: what the heck.

The reviewer:
Unfortunately, this movie is not for everyone. I wish it didn't offend some but it does. So, if you want to know whether you will enjoy this film or not, you must answer "yes" to the following:

1. I am not offended by the "F" word. Being repeated 200 times, in gest.

2. I am not offended by intense marionette sex.

3. I am not offended by some sensitive satire.

4. I am not offended by ridiculous political satire.

5. I am not a member of the Film Actor's Guild.

If you're like me (the reviewer) and have answered "yes" to the above five questions, go see this film. You will laugh so hard it will hurt and you will giggle about it for the next week thereafter.

I have to say that I am very desensitized when it comes these kinds of films, and I'd say that Team America has raised the bar in derogatory humor. Especially now with the extreme copy cats. And now there is the Kumar movies hitting the screen. Team America is animated, with insanely provocative marionettes, and that only made it more hilarious. I give it 5 stars, two thumbs up, 10 out of 10; it was flawless. But...

On the other hand, if you're not like me, you might find yourself walking out by the third time you hear the song, "America, F*** Yeah!"

I guess the Team America references would have made sense if I would have seen the movie, but I have never even heard of it until now.

After watching the trailer I doubt I'll be renting it, though I do like South Park so it might not be that bad.

laugh.gif I did not say I agreed that it was a great film. I just cut and pasted the info from IMB for context. It was not one of my top 20 or 30 flicks. I think I was trying to be nice to BMIC and help put his joke in context.

I may be a poser as my kids say.
I am just in the groove because I have teens and young adults who keep me current. wink.gif
I am also a great googler.

I was in Martinsburg yesterday. I saw a scarf like the one we are talking about. ohmy.gif laugh.gif

That was your mistake. laugh.gif

Of course it was a joke. Do people seriously talk like that to people for real? There are people that understand my humor, and people who don't and get upset by it. If I say something that seems offensive or mean I am most likely joking. ESPECIALLY if I say right underneath of it that I am joking. That's how I play around with people I feel comfortable with. I guess I made the mistake of getting too comfortable on here. I'll stick to cold facts now so I don't give people the wrong opinion.

I still understand where the allah jihad thing came from in your post, again my entire post after that was a joke. Ok, I'm done with the whole issue now.

I walked in on someone else's discussion. biggrin.gif cool.gif
I love obscure & then the more obvious references and jokes. Variety is the spice of life.
This thread, about a cheap scarf and coffee, has a lot of variety in humor. A lot of joking. Everyone has different humor & triggers.
That is the fun, seeing where it goes. What we get and do not get. Everyone's humor is different...... smile.gif
