Experts say that extreme changes in climate, combined with dwindling resources, famine, war and disease have the potential to create a post-apocalyptic world in less than a hundred years.
so all the sci-fi movie and book writers knew before anyone

Are these the same sci-fi writers who in the 50's said we'd all be flying around in our own little airplane cars in the 80's and 90's?

Why does the theme song pop in my mind as soon as someone says Jetsons???

Ouch! That's a scary picture there, Coma. Did that come from Will Smith's
Independence Day??

No that looks like something from the tv documentary thing about life without humans.
~Though I have never seen the movie independence day.

And Ith calls himself a gamer.

It's from
Fallout 3 (i think).

Ith (herself) does not play war games or FPS or any type of shooter at all for that matter. Nor do I play racing games. RPGs and some action that's about it for me.

Fallout 3 = RPG, or actually "action-RPG" if you listen to the developer.

Does it involve shooting? Because I don't do shooting games, and it look like that dude on the cover had a gun!

People have been predicting the end of the world for millenia.
In fact any good Biblical scholar can tell you that he early Christians truly believed that Jesus' second coming was imminent, and in fact that belief has become an ingrained part of traditional Christian belief, though most folks take the atitude that we never know when we could die of misadventure and thus for each person individually we need to live each day realizing that it could be our last on this earth.
History is filled with cases of groups who believed the world would end on a whole host of specific dates, for a whole bunch of reasons.

What: you only do bow and arrow, knives, swords and axes? Oh yeah - those are so much more humane! Hack and slash - rinse and repeat. Yeah I like those kinds of games too, I guess.

It's the aiming and firing that I don't like with shooter games. I'd rather hack and slash. I'm playing dungeon seige II at the moment. I hope that wasn't sarcasm B, you aren't allowed to joke around with me remember. (That last sentence was a joke by the way, don't get offended

Of course it was sarcasm, but I know you understood my point. I myself favor the hack and slash kind of games. Used to love the free Korean MMO Thang, dabbled in Silk Road Online for a bit, played Guild Wars for a while, but am big time into LOTRO these days.
Guns and modern war simulations and other shooters don't generally float my boat, though I do have and have played a bit of Doom 3.

I can't even do the RPG shooters like Dirge or Cerb. I played guild wars for a bit, I loved that it was FREE, but it was too buggy on my laptop. I would walk around for a few minutes and end up right back where I started from. I also didn't like the low level cap, and had no interest in the gulids.
What about Diablo II? Should I be PMing this stuff?

I'm really still a bit of a newbie to MMOs. Never Played Diablo II or many of the others.
Naw, I think we're about done anyway, I need to go get my grocery shopping done. Besides I think the thread was kind of dying anyway.
