I want to go somewhere and I don't have any money. Our planned trip to the Dominican Republic fell through back in January. That place is not easy to book! Last time I was out of town was to visit Phishalicious and that was forever ago. I know I'm going to be at Myrtle for a week in September, but I wanna go somewhere now and I want to go somewhere that I haven't been. I'm not that hard to please. I wanted our next jaunt to be an extended weekend in Boston. Why Boston? Ionno? Just want to. Same reason I organized our trip to Philly and NYC. Just want to! Don't you!?

I love seeing local road signs in my rear view mirror and squealing, "bye bye y'all!" I'm NOT a morning person but I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed if I'm leaving town! Even at 3am. Jesus, I'm a total Thelma and Louise head case.

I want to go anywhere and everywhere. The only places I'm focused on are Ireland and Russia. The only peep I can convince to go with me to those places is Jen. She knows we'd have fun anywhere

There are SO many places I want to go - I think I'd never be able to fulfill all my wants. Dream job? To work for the travel channel! Ever see the episode that has that chic that goes literally all over the world & gets her own "private" tour of the best local hot spots & food? That's who I want to be! I want to go to gay Paris (pronounced Pair-e) just do sit at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower at night... Italy so I can take a gondola and eat authentic italian food... Ireland so that I can experience the laughter & music in a true Irish Pub and walk along the lush green country side... England because I would love to see the guards @ Buckingham Palace & Big Ben... Russia would be nice just to visit & experience the culture... Thailand I would love to visit as well - although not so sure about Japan or China & I really don't know why.

Places at home I just cannot get eough of... NYC (I go at least once a year - Christmas time is the best!), Outer Banks - just for the pure relaxing beach factor, Tennessee for the romantic & relaxing green mountains and cool lakes, Florida Keys - just for the "Jimmy Buffet" feeling I get eveytime I am there...

I could ramble on & on... I'll take anyone who's up for a good road trip & who would return the favor!

I hate traveling. The only vacation I look forward to is a warm beach in the winter time, although I dread the traveling part.


I'm planning on cruising the intercoastal waterway down to Florida and back sometime but probably not for a few years.

I just know the wife would veto it!

Heather, you sound like a really fun person. You'll find a decent guy and have your fun and travels. Now, how could you meet (single) guys who wanna travel....????

Maybe if she went on a single's cruise she may find a travelling man.


Why don't you head down to the cities? Balt and Wash? There has to be plenty that you haven't seen or done there.
What about heading south to the Luray area? wait....you don't do camping do you?
How about over to southern maryland to see the small towns and that side of the bay?( thats something I want to do one day)


I also want to head up to the Adirondacks mountains.
The great lakes region
The desert southwest region
And to the west coast to follow highway 1 and to see the redwoods

None of those places are as beautiful as West Virginia, Dragonlady.

oh, I'm sure. But they're some place DIFFERENT than WV. Thats what interests me. Terrain, climate,accents,food.

Ugh, I've got the travelling bug bad myself, too, Heather, but no vacation this summer for us. Right now I'm obsessed with the idea of going to Australia since I just finished a really funny travel book about the place ("In a Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson). Some time in my life I also want to get to Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii, Iceland, Banff (in CA), Montana, and Maine. Hubby and I are planning on going to New Zealand May 2010 for our 20-year anniversary, a lifelong dream for both of us.

Sigh! I'm sad now. Wanna be any place but here today, all this talk of travel...

I am dying to go to New Zealand. I shudder to think how much a round-trip plane ticket would cost now, though. I would love to travel to so many places, I don't have time to list all of them. At the top of my list:

I just got back from a really excellent, relaxing week at the Outer Banks. A week ago I was perched on a beach chair, watching the waves. *heavy sigh*

Egypt. Period.

The only place that came to mind was Alaska, and I don't know why.

I had to travel when I was young, all over the US. in a camper, so I think that kind of burned me out on traveling.

I just wish I would have paid more attention to the places we visited though.

There are many video references to this, dad, but I can't post them because they all involve Chevy Chase and the eff word.

That bitch can stay at home and take care of my cats while I'm gone.
