Vendor apologizes for racist pins

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...n.16051b20.html

“Obviously, it’s been offensive to people. It was not meant to be that way. We’re into humor - not racism,” Mr. Alcox said.

In this day and age he should have known better.

Dallas...republicans...racist?
Udmas
Of course, because we all know democrats can't be racists.

GOOFY!
Gosh we could all run a company and see that problem coming. The actual written message, then set it one a black background, about a candidate of color. DUH.

Penalty for bad business and being stupid.

laugh.gif Reading one post, we could make a pin that reads: Racism, its Bipartisan. (Meaning both Repubs and Dems can be goofy.)

Some people don't even realize which party was for slavery and which was against it. More importantly people don't realize how racist some of the old time democrats in the senate are. One from WV was in the Klan or closely associated with it. Yet they call Republicans racist.

That would be Robert Byrd and he's been a Senator for 50 years. He made some hideous statements about blacks back in the day, hateful things. I have to give him credit for being public with his views though unlike many other government officials with two faces. I'm not giving him a pass, but a lot of people, a lot of government officials, were racist back then. That was a turning point in history. We're in the here and now.

The republicans vs democrats war gives me the craps. I can't stand it. Y'all love to hate each other. It's stupid.

I agree, it's twice as much fun to hate them both. laugh.gif

Good way to think of it. I only am registered as Republican so I can run for office if I choose. It is to hard to get on the ballot otherwise. We live in a two party system.

This is a distrubing story on many fronts.

1. The politically incorrect button.

2. How #1 highlights, what appears to be Mr. Obama's supporters game plan (I don't believe it will be Mr. Obama himself). If it even smells like it might be racists attack the Republicans.

Both canidates need to hone their platforms and stop worrying about race. Mr. McCain I believe will be at a disadvantage throughout due to Mr. Obama's supporters just waiting for him to say anything they can run with, shouting racism.

It's the issues, dummies.

Cheers

It's not the democrat part that is important, it's the old part.

"The key to the Republican party's success was its position on slavery. It opposed the expansion of slavery and called upon Congress to take measures, whenever necessary, to prevent its extension"

Parties have changed and flip flopped so much throughout history, I try not to follow it. I only look at recent issues. Like I said I don't care what Thomas Jefferson slept with. Whatever happened in 1803 doesn't influence me too much.
