O.K. - I'll admit... Gotta give credit where credit is due... I can't remember the thread, but I believe what Heather said about kids wanting babies to feel loved may have had more value than I originally thought....

Pregnancy Pact - Stupid is as Stupid does!

Yep, I sure did say that.

How about the kid who got pregnant by a homeless person. If that was my daughter she would be going to the abortion clinic. Sick bitch needs a real good azz kickin.

Maybe teens are just that immature that they don't realize what a burden a child is. They can't seem to think past buying a new pair of shoes with their fast food pay check. The usual excuse is that their moms will raise the kid, or the kids father, yeah, right.

I feel that the media, who seems to spotlight teens giving birth as acceptable and the lack of parents being actively involved in their childs lives, as the blame for some of this. How sad is it when the goal of a teenage girl is to become pregnant while still in high school. What about the father's of these babies? Is this adding to the increasing number of absentee father's and single mothers? As I've stated in other post regarding children, my heart aches thinking about these poor children being born to these uninformed teens. sad.gif

Sorry, Ith... My bad... wink.gif

I think I watched something on TV just last night about some (yet another) reality show where parents are "lending" their infants to teenage couples to have & take care of 24/7 to show them what parenthood is all about... While it may be a good kick in the butt to these teenage "parents" - I dunno if I would be handin' over my babies for the experiment! blink.gif

So, this is an update... School Chief is explaining that the pregnancy & children gives the girls "status". Status of what? Being STUPID??? The article also states that the girls are from an economically depressed village of Gloucester, Mass. So not only are they severely impacting their lives and the lives of their unborn babies, they are also going to increase the welfare statistics in Massachusetts!!!

Adult Dolt --->>> Lynn Spears (Brittany and Jamie's mom)

Little "Zoe 101" delivered a healty girl yesterday. Jamie is only 16 (maybe 17 by now) years old. This chicklet had it MADE! Nice chunk of change in her purse and a hit show with limitless possibilities. What did she do? She got preggers by her teeny-bopper boyfriend. Nice.

How wonderful would it have been if Momma Spears had come out condemming her daughters behavior, instead of condoning it. Dumb azz stage mom.

Wonder how many young girls who idolize Little Momma Jamie will now think it's "cool" to be a teen-age mom?

What wonderful examples for out young to emulate.

Some folks and their warped sense of "right/wrong" just make me wanna puke.

I agree PB!!! No infant of mine would partake in this madness. There has to be a better way...... I know! maybe we can call Japan and have them create a colicky, teething 5month olds for these teens to care for. biggrin.gif

LMAO!!! Now THAT'S a great idea!!!

I had heard that little Miss Spears had given birth... What? Millions per year in income & they can't afford some type of birth control?!?!?

I have 4 children, 2 boy's and twin girls. My girls are 18 month's old now, and they ware me out. I would if I could pay good money to see a teen with them for a 48 hour period. If it's not 1 getting into something you have to go find the other one. My boy's run away most of the time. Think the girls rule in my house. But I agree with some of you I'd never trust turning my kids over to someone who has no experience with a child. I'd say this much the twins would make them think twice about having intercourse that's for sure.

I have 16 year old boy/girl twins and THEY are what keeps my 22 year old son's libido stagnant.

I don't think good parenting has anything to do with getting pregnant or not getting pregnant. Some who are aware of the consequences seem to forget them in the heat of the moment. Not all girls who get pregnant in high school come from families where the parents don't care. Some are too afraid to go get preventative measures. If parents would say if you are going to be active be safe, go get BC, wear condoms, it would be much better than, NO don't EVER have sex, you are TOO YOUNG.

About the girls having status, like I said pregnant girls are thought to be cool now. They get tons of attention from everyone, everyone is asking oo when's it due, is it boy or girl, etc. They also think the child will love them. Just like kids being in gangs or committing crimes gives them status, this is similar.

About the TV show, morning talk shows have been doing that for years. Some parents would volunteer to give sexually active 12 year old that want to get pregnant their children for 24 hours, and see if that changed their minds. For the kids that would sleep with anyone and anything to get pregnant they had an ex-hooker talk to them about getting beat up and having aids, took them to the morgue, took them to jail for 24 hours. Sometimes it helped sometimes it didn't. It was crazy to see 12 year olds that were so addicted to sex. I think maybe it makes them feel loved or special for a few minutes at least. THAT may be a parent neglect issue, but the parents on the show always seem real caring and nice, I don't know. Sometimes they just do it to act out, who knows.

I thought boys were icky until 8th or 9th grade, so I can't imagine a pregnant 12 year old. 14, 15, or 16 is hard to imagine too, 17 or 18 I could see.

Ithlilian is being a little minx. happy.gif

Here's the thread where we discussed it.

I think we both shared the same opinion, Ith.

I don't think this type of behavior is limited to young girls either. I think a lot of women in general get pregnant because they're seeking attention and love. Before I get called out again, I don't think this of every woman.

I did hear that you are the "Lost Thread Goddess"!!! laugh.gif

I am hanging my head in shame... for some reason, all this time - I thought Ith was a dude!!! I think I need to go back to blonde again...

The more I thought about the statement, and the more I thought about some of the women I have come across in my adult life - the more I sadly have to agree... Very poor choices from what I have seen - but I believe there are women out there (yes - not all!) that do feel having a baby will solve all the problems... Give them love, make the boyfriend love them, make the man leave his wife, make the relationship with parents better (that one really blows my mind!), make their finances better (that one blows my mind even more!!), fill whatever void it is they have... It's crazy! To those people - and especially the young girls - move out on your own and get a pet! Geesh! blink.gif

The Gloucester baby boom is forcing this city of 30,000 to grapple with the question of providing easier access to birth control, something this largely Catholic enclave is slow to embrace, the site said.

What? huh.gif You mean teaching abstinence and praying about it hasn't been working? blink.gif laugh.gif

This is a perfect example of why sex education and birth control need to be taught in school. The notion that being a teenage mom is "cool" is just absurd, not to mention sad.

Others have thought I was a guy too. I don't see how I can make a name more feminine, but it's ok smile.gif

Yes, I see that Heather did say that, my bad.
