as a republican. I find it hard to associate with a left politicatal activist, lobbyist group. However I have indulged in that which felt right. I have raised money for relay for life. typicaly held 6/6 in my hometown. apparently held here????? on 6/20?.
I gota start my own team???

direction?
hagopinion
Not sure about directions. But as a fellow republican I don't understand anything that the dems do. So hit me up for some money when you get your team together. I am not much for walking but I am for giving to a good cause, on a personal level; NOT ON A FORCED GOVERNMENTAL LEVEL.

I used to give to the team from Dept. of Social Services but friends have left.

Go to the website. Read.

If you have enough people to start a team, then you can start a team. If it's just you, well I suppose you could be your own team, but you could also join someone else's team which make more sense since you're supposed to have someone on your team walking at all times during the "relay."

My team raised over $3,000 a few weeks ago! My aunt and my friend raised most of that alone. They blew me out of the water. Some companies will match donations so don't forget to look into that.

Our team walk was during the day in the rain, which sucked, but I pulled a 2:00am to 3:30am shift that night/morning and the weather was perfect. It was a nice walk. Everything had calmed down and wasn't so much like a circus. I'm a night person though so no big.

About it being republican or democrat...I don't know...I was supporting my aunt and cancer research.

Just curious, but how is raising money for cancer research a left-wing/democrat issue? huh.gif
UnholyFreak
Your sig, Wildblue! laugh.gif I wonder if Phish has seen that.
PHISH
I have now and I want to steal it! ph34r.gif Nice sig Wildblue. wink.gif

But on to the topic.... I have the same question as Wildblue.... how is Relay for Life a leftist group?
wildblue
Heh, thanks guys...I like it too and find it to be very true! biggrin.gif

On topic--I'm very curious to find out about how Relay 4 Life is a partisan group. Not all groups that lobby in DC are leftist.

Please note that I never state that Relay for life is a partisan group. Since Dougster mentioned left wings I just agreed that I don't understand anything that they do. I would further that and state that I don't understand almost everything that the Republican do either.

I also further the discussion to state that I have no problem giving to a good cause because I want to and am able to. However, I do not like being forced to give money to a cause because the government thinks it is a good idea, ie. taxes for welfare, taxes for non-profits, ect.

So I will assume your ongoing questions are for Dougster.
