Haven't seen it advertised but I'm sure it'll be going on. I know you won't see me on the north end of town. I can't deal with the traffic from all of the yard sales.
We'll just be hanging out at our place at teh river all weekend. Drinking a few cold ones and cooking out.

5th - Funeral for Jason - visit hubby in hospital
Someone...ANYONE...drink a cold one for me please. Maybe two.
Guess I'll have the pulled pork sandwich, it's the WashCo hospitals "special". Not bad for $2.99.

Nah, WVDragon, you are NOT old enough to be my mom!
All my kids do not want to go see fireworks; they want to have their own fireworks in our yard, and they actually expect yours truly to put them in the car and go from state to state buying ALL the fireworks legal in all states that are close to here, so as to circumvent any laws pertaining to same! They are going to have to get their own transportation and their own money...................

Tomorrow is picnic day with friends at their home. Then church on Sunday.

Sorry to hear about your back. Great article on Allen in this mornings paper. I hope his arm can hold up and we'll be rooting for him. If you cant make it tonight dont worry about it. Kids want to see the fireworks anyway. I forgot it was the 4th tonight. I've got some good muscle relaxers if you need them. I can drop them by for you.

I'm supposed to go camping this weekend. I've been talking about it to other people. Maybe I'd get a sense of joy instead of tolerance?
The people that exclaim, "oh! how fun!" I ask, "well what do you do?" The bulk response is very general which makes me very suspect.
"

Oh lots of things! We always have fun camping!

"
Me: like what?
To make a long dialogue short, they cook hot dogs, marshmallows, smores and beans in a can. To me this sounds like dinner if no one is around I have to fend for myself using only my kitchen and nearest convenience store.
"You're at one with nature." I love animals...to death. I will die because if you aim a gun at a threatening bear, I will probably leap into the air to take the bullet to save it's life. (Subsequently, I will not be able to watch the live footage but will be moved to tears by watching the movie adapation.)
Here's the facts:
- the tent I have on borrow has a closet and Jen said it's big. I'm certain I could build it myself if given all night but I think everyone will peg me as a diva.
- I dun liek eating clouds and this means marshmallows and cool whip. I'm fierce and won't back down on this!
- I have no faith in bug spray and I GAH I feel them on me right now just thinking about it.

I saw one of these bitches trounce my hardwood floor with hundreds of legs. It squigged itself from under my couch (!) and proceded to assault my senses as it galivanted past my coffee table and then when I let a gasp escape...it trounced back underneath from whenst it came...which was right underneath meee.
Do you know what would be fun!? I could cancel my camping trip with friends and go by myself and video tape a la Blair Witch. ! Wouldn't that be fun!? My first camping trip via vlog.

What say ye?

Ok, Heather...
I was hoping that maybe you'd be camping at Assateague (with the beach being the redeeming part), but your mention of bears says more of the hills.
Ok, prove me wrong, Heather. Come back and tell us you had a great time amongst the heat, bugs, and stuffy tent!!
I try to find the good points in life, but this is a hard one for me! And I'm no beauty queen either!
I'm the bear when I don't get a good night's sleep.
But, there's enough of a rebel in you to prove me wrong.
Way back in the day, I went camping in tents a few times, but it was only because my hubby (to be) was going and I wanted to spend time with him. So, good memories of that. Once we were married, the tent camping was over!
Be adventurous, watch the sundown, look for lightening bugs, find the highest mountain and climb it! There's alot of beauty to be inspired by. Enjoy!

PRE KIDS CAMPING: we used to go camping and we'd build a nice fire and sit around it and get smashed. Then the next day, have breakfast, make some sandwiches and and go to a lookout and hang out there looking at the scenery and picknicking, and bullshitting. Depending on how far away in the mountains( early 70's) some would bring their guns and have target practice.
POST KIDS CAMPING: drag all kinds of crap along because the kids needed it, cook for everybody, clean up, try to get some sleep, wake up, cook for everybody again, try to keep the kids entertained, cook, clean up, find something else for the kids to do while all the guys are just having the time of their lives going and doing all kinds of shite, cook, clean up, try to get the kids to sleep, try to sleep, wake up, cook, clean up, pack all the shite back up...............yadda yadda yadda.....
There will be stuff to get into Heather. Just be sure to pack some nice sturdy boots for hiking. Ask if you'll be swimming in the river or a lake and bring a suit and towels. Bring the bug spray( you'll need it and it does work). Bring a hat. BYOB.

I'm sure I will, Checks. I just like to complain. I'm more worried about being bored than anything. I actually considered making the trip into a project and having friends submit dares for me to accomplish to include video/photo or some kind of proof that I did it. Like: 1. climb a tree 2. jump in a lake 3. confront a wild animal (obviously a bunny or squirrel or some such!) The point being it would give me something fun to do and maybe the resulting footage would be good for a laugh. Alas I might not be that ambitious and prefer to park my butt by a fire and roast store-bought portabellas and drink all night.

My list of things to bring keeps multiplying! The only sturdy boots I have are my snow boots.
You should see the directions I have to get there. They creep me out. "Absolutely DO NOT go down the road marked ROUTE 666. It's right where you need to turn to get on Route LALALA. DO NOT TAKE ROUTE 666!"

Having a bunch of our neices/nephews and their children over for target practice. We're the only ones in the family with enough land to safely shred a couple of trees with dangerous weaponry.
I love to shoot, but anything louder than the .22 makes me jump - much to the delight of my children.
While the bullet-thrusting exercise is going on, Jels will be in her herb garden, wearing ear plugs and sniffing the plants. Might take the wee ones down there and let them taste a couple just for sheets and giggles. Might even make them eat a flower or two. And if I'm feeling REALLY evil, maybe Great Auntie Jels will teach them how to fish - in hubby's new koi pond!

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I am going to try to get to some of the Ag Expo Fair this weekend. Also, have familiy reunion on Saturday and then work on river property Sunday. Anyone that says having a little property along river is all fun is full of it, but I love camping and being on the water, so I fit that in between the work.
Next weekend is my annual yard sale, so anyone around Virginia Avenue feel free to stop in, and if you mention you read it on the forums I'll throw in a 10% discount.
