I recently bought an ipod and (purposely) overestimated the size I needed to hold my music collection. So now I have a bunch of space left on it and see you can download audio books from Apple's itunes store.
Has anybody ever bought/listened to an audio book on tape or cd or whatever? It intrigues me, but I'd hate to shell out the money for it, not like it, and end up with the print edition anyway.
The older I get, it seems my mind winders more and more while I'm reading a book. Is it better or worse with an audio book? Thanks.

My best suggestion would be to go to the public library and borrow one to see if you like the concept. Many commuters borrow them for the drive, as do people driving on a long vacation, and especially truckers. Washington County has loads of them and you can check them out for 3 weeks at a time.

I used to have a very monotonos, repetitive job. I wouldn't have made it through such a boring job had I not rented audio books from Wonder Book and Video and from the library to listen to. I got just as engrossed in the audio tape as I would a book. I actually got to the point where I had listened to the whole audio book section in the library.

I don't like fiction on audio... it doesn't move fast enough for me. But non-fiction in audio is okay.
But that's just me.
