There is a criminal element in Hagerstown! It is the owner/operators of the areas asian buffets! Especially the Pacific Ocean Buffet.

I took my kids there today (8-2) because my wife wasn't with us (She hates this place) and the kids like the sushi selection better than the others. Aslo I got a Moneymailer coupon that came in the mail Friday (8-1) that gave 10% off the total check.

Now here is the issue. As mentioned above I got a coupon on 8-1 for 10% off the total check. Stated right on the coupon it says that the lunch buffet Mon-Sat is $5.99 til 3:30. Well we get there and the lady rings me up and it comes up very high so I ask here what the cost is and she says $6.59!! I showed her the coupon and said I got it yesterday and she snatched it out of my hand and pointed to the "Prices subject to change" fine print and I told her the coupon came out yesterday and that what she was doing was against the bait and switch law. She didn't care! I told her she was a criminal and that we will be reporting her and never ever returning!

This is a class "A" bait and switch scam! $5.99 + 10% is $6.59!!!!!!!!!

I have copies of my reciepts and the coupon. I will be contacting the BBB, Money Mailer, and the Health Dept.

If you experience the same thing please report them as well.

I had lunch there for $5.99. At that price I was not ultra picky. As long as it was neat and clean, which it was. My first visit was fine.

I read back in the thread and many state otherwise. That the price was higher and so they were measuring it against high end places. Really depends what happens on your visit, very inconsistent so I wonder about the management. I have only been there 3x, each time was different. Good and bad. I can see how opinions vary, the establishment varies each visit. rolleyes.gif ph34r.gif

Like I said, the place is unpredictable, which is not much of an endorsement. I can see the bait and switch occurring. In part due to the language barrier, it is easy for employees not to understand advertising and legalities of promotional materials. Sad they are not tuned in, the owner needs a business course. That lack of understanding among the line staff will lead to poor customer service and loss in business.

I guess I got what I paid for. laugh.gif
