Anyone interested in sharing their opinions about upcoming Mayoral and City Council candidates?

3 elected officials kicked out so far. 3 more to go and it will be a good election. We need the clean sweep all new people period.

You say three are out ... based on that can I assume you are confident that Penny Nigh's write-in campaign will be unsuccessful?

Anything is possible but I don't see Republicans going the extra mile to vote for her. Plus she hasn't exactly done wonders with teh questions that have been asked of her.

The election is over. There are three new council members and a new date for future elections. What do you think?

Having the city election at the same time as the general election should change the electoral dynamics significantly. It only took 5% of Hagerstown's population to vote Bruchey into office, and even less for the Council members. Having a wider cross-section of the citizenry would only improve the democratic process.

We'll see in the next city election if the change makes a difference in terms of turnout. I certainly hope so. The apathy is painful...and shameful.

I agree, " It makes sense to have the city election at the same time as the general election. "
Seem like a lot of folks would rather stay home then vote for who's going to be the next Mayor of Hagerstown.
