My parents have a garden that could feed a city. They always have too much of everything and wind up giving away so much. I hand stuff out to peeps I know, but I still have a naive little girl inside me that insists that someone needs it more.
Where does your overflow go?

I'm still waiting on an over abundance of green tomatoes to ripen

What are you doing wrong? I know people at work that have zillions of them.

I've heard a lot of folks say this. Must be due to the cool July we've had. All mine seem to be coming in at once now! I love the tips in Mail Call (yes, I admit to reading it) dealing with blossom end rot. I'll pour a epsom salt solution on the roots, and amend with lime next spring.

Admit reading mail call? I bet that's THE most read section of the paper.

I can my garden produce. I give some away to neighbors and you can also give any extra produce thats fresh to CCap/Loaves and Fishes, or to the Rescue Mission for their soup kitchen. The Senior Center would probably love to get the extra for their kitchen and for their seniors to take home.
