Full Version: Celebrating Mao

On 9-30-09 and 10-1-09 the Empire State Building will be bathed with a red-yellow-red color scheme in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Maoist take over of China (10-1-1949). Of course, the White House will be flying the flag of Communist China tomorrow as well. [You probably think I'm kidding?]

Lets all celebrate that grand triumph of Communism. Such a masterpiece of human achievement!
It wouldn't surprise me if they're also having a moment of silence in the schools in honor of the Maoists. I hope they don't forget to mention Marx, Lenin, and Trotsky, and all they did for humanity. Maybe Pelosi and Reid could read a few favorite gems from their copies of Quotations from Charmian Mao or The Communist Manifesto on the floor of the House and Senate tomorrow morning and port it into the schools.

We're quickly becoming a nation of friggin MORONS!

For some reason I'm really not surprised.

Remember our boats going to Vietnam under Slick Willy? Whose flag was flying?

The continued Dem policy of appeasement. rolleyes.gif

This is why we need a divorce! [See the terms of separation].

The enlightened American Left should have the "opportunity" to dwell in their Utopian dreamland without interference from obstructionists like me. The Cubans under Castro, the Chinese under Mao, and the millions in Easter Europe and Russia under the Soviet Socialists, all had the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their ideological heroes. It's time the American "Progressives" [as if moving toward more centralized government authority over our lives is somehow progress laugh.gif] had the chance to live their dream.

So, let's get DIVORCED - GOOD RIDDANCE AND DON'T COME BACK! Of course, since they're nothing but parasites, they really would never go for such a thing - but I think it would be great! Kind of like a 50 pound dog that finally got that 75 pound tick off his back cool.gif

Now settle down there, Skippy. Wipe the froth off your mouth and take a deep breath!

(1) This story is old news.

(2) The main source of the story is the Chinese media.

(3) It was not a White House event, but a cultural event at a park adjacent to the White House.

(4) It is not at all unusual to raise other countries flags at both cultural and state events.
See the Russian flag being raised by St. Ronald of California at the executive mansion:

And Bush raising the Chinese flag:

Even the WorldNutDaily article admitted the display wasn't really an issue, according to the American Legion ('thogh, they're probably part of that liberal media conspiracy):
"A spokesman for the American Legion told WND that if the proper protocols are followed, there should be no issue with the actual display of a Chinese flag, especially since diplomatic visits routinely include the display of foreign flags."

C'mon! This old, overblown, inaccurate, second-hand report is hardly proof that Obama is the Manchurian Candidate awaiting orders from his Chinese masters.

My beverage of choice is a well-made American craft beer, thank you.
