Okay I think I heard on the radio this morning where KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) has changed their name to Kitchen Fresh Chicken because of the word fried! Is the rumour true?

I just checked KFC's website:

http://www.kfc.com/default.htm

and there's nothing on there about Kitchen Fresh Chicken. I too, have heard the recent advertisements and wondered about the Kitchen Fresh Chicken name change.

I think they changed the name from Kentucky Fried Chicken to just KFC some time ago. I think it's just a move to get away from the "fried" reference.

Anyhow, checking press releases on their website indicated no official name change to Kitchen Fresh Chicken.

I just wondered if the DJ was right. I don't see why KFC would bother we're still going to refer to it as Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I've seen the commercials on TV. I guess it just sounds more enticing. rolleyes.gif

You folks in Hagerstown eat too much fried food anyway. Look around town at the number of obese people. Stop eating so much fried chicken.

Not concerned: Why do you care what people in Hagerstown eat? I thought you weren't concerned. rolleyes.gif

I guess no obese people live where you are. Oh, wait a minute. Seems you may have more than your share of fat heads. rolleyes.gif tongue.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

What do you care? Why don't you mind your own business and let people be fat and happy if they want. Why does everyone feel they have the right to tell people how to live their lives? I don't get people anymore. Unless you're generally concerned, don't worry about it. mad.gif

Being the fattest country in the world there are bound to be lots of fat people anyway, but what does that have to do with KFC possibly changing their name?

That's like the Cable Channel TNN, it used to be The Nashville Network then they changed to The National Network so they could shake the redneck image they had tried to attract a bigger audience. Now they changed it to Spike TV.

I love KFC chicken, I don't care what they call the place I will still go there and you can have fried food in moderation and not get fat just as long as you don't eat it seven days a week!!!

FYI: The Nashville Network was owned by Gaylord Communications, the company that owns Opryland. Viacom, the owners of CBS and MTV that produced the halftime show-it-all at the Super Bowl, purchased TNN. Viacom dumped all the country programming and changed the name to The National Network and then later changed it to Spike TV

Yeah, it seems like Viacom owns everything!!! They control a pretty good chunk of the airwaves!!!!

Well CMT has taken the place of THe Nashville Network.

Viacom also owns CMT. It looks like they are aiming for a younger audience. Great American Country (GAC), which broadcasts the Grand Ol' Opry, and is not available on Antietam Cable, is intended for the 25-54 age bracket.
