I was just curious to find out what kind of cars y'all are driving, do you like it, and what's your all time dream car? I drive a 2003 Volvo S60, and it's my third Volvo and I don't think I'll buy anything else. I've never had a problem with any of them, but my first Volvo (1987 Volvo 240) was the best! It was like a tank, and if you hit something it was more than likely going to put a dent in the thing you hit. My dream car, however, is the Mercedes SL600 Roadster, but alas I don't have $126,000.

95 Toyota Previa....Love it!
My dream car keeps changing, but anything small, sporty and room for two people and two sets of golf clubs....oh yeah, topless too....

Room for you to be topless? Sorry mistress, couldn't pass that up!!
I have a 95 Accent, love it, totally reliable, great gas mileage. We also have a 2001 Suzuki XL7. It was a great price for the size of vehicle it is. Just doesn't have a very big engine. But we don't do a whole lot of off-roading, so it's pretty good. Especially lugging all the soccer gear, and usually a couple extra players who hitch rides with us. We had a Saturn LS, which I really liked, too.
My dream car? A sebring convertible. Well, ok, that's relatively attainable. Real dream car is Benz 2 seat convertible

that's truly dreamin'!

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition and I love it. Especially the heated seats. My dream vechile is a Hummer. Hopefully they get all of the problems resolved with the H2 and put a diesel engine in it

Cars are not that important to me. I just want one that starts every time I turn the key and stops when I need it to stop! Currently I drive a 95 Escort wagon purchased used. The body is a perfect canvas for posting a variety of stickers to promote my causes. As these stickers easily identify me, I must be especially careful to follow all traffic rules! My dream car would be one that got terrific mileage as well as being extremely safe.

Right now I'm driving a red 2000 Toyota Echo. Good gas mileage which is important now

. I also have a red toyota pick-up and apparently hubby just bought me some kind of Bronco thats automatic with 4x4.Havn't seen it yet. We needed something bigger to pull the camper cuz we got rid of the pop-up.
Don't really have a dream car but, a few years back I saw at a car show a red, rag top, Ford Falcon which at the time was $7,000.But didn't have the money

. It was absolutely beautiful inside!

I have a 94 Fullsize4x4 Chevy PU. We also have a Subaru Sportster. I have to say the Subaru is better in the snow than my truck. My dream car is a 32 chop 3 window coup with a big block Chevy engine 2 fours. But i`ll settle for a 68 Pontiac convertable Tri power.

My wife and I have a 2000 Honda civic sport and a 1996 Hyundai Accent (Both very reliable). My work truck is a 2003 Toyota Tacoma (I love it).
My dream car would have to be a 1968 Camaro SS. Black with racing flames on the front quarter panels. I am a sucker for the old Camaro's.

mstubble, you must really love those gas sucking monsters! You must not have to commute to DC everyday!!

Or maybe you have lots of $$$..can I borrow some?
I've come to the decision that as long as it gets me from A to B and back, and doesn't make me take out a second mortgage, it's a great car!
Dragonlady, you got a new camper?? Cool! I'm jealous. Looked at some at the mall when they were on display. Our truck would barely tow a pop-up.

We found a 1967 Serro Scotty Travel Trailer for $800! We're doing some re-model just because we don't like some of the interior.Everything works, but we want to put a microwave in and we're putting in a new small fridge. It's 15ft. long. Kinda like a pop-up but with hard sides. It's so old that the manufacturer doesn't make them any more, they make those small houses that fire companies use for fire safety! I'm threatening to paint "hippie" flowers all over the outside and put up some curtains that I'm making from some old 60"s material I found at the Goodwill.

It's cute. Our truck JUST pulled the pop-up so we're getting the Bronco for this one. Also I need something 4x4 for to drive to work come winter. If you look hard and in every kind of paper you can probably find something in good shape. Hubby kept seeing the Scotty sitting in somebody's driveway with a "for sale" sign in it and just stopped one day to see how much it was. Called and the guy let him check it out inside and the rest is history!

GMAN
Mar 28 2004, 10:36 PM
Way back in the 50's Chrysler Corp. invented the " Hemi " short for hemispherical.
It's the shape of the combustion chamber. All other engines have flat type combustion chambers. It's just the new rage at Chrysler the new Hemi is not even a true Hemi the combustion chamber is not even dome shaped. Are you confusied yet

It's a man thing... you know more power....

I drive a '89 Jeep cherokee lifted,geared and locked

.I also have a '98 full size chevrolet 4x4 pickup. Both gets crappy gas mileage. But in the summer I can make up for that '82 suzuki GS550MZ Katana and '98 suzuki GSX750F Katana.
In a year or two would like to get a '01-'02 Land Rover Discovery series II.
As far as dream car I would go with a dodge viper or a classic '69 GTO.

I don't like automobiles. I wish I could say I didn't even own one. Mine is paid off and gets me where I want to go. It's a white 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. My dream car would not require gas, oil changes, tire rotations, taxes, paperwork, licenses, registrations, insurance, air in the tires, windshield wiper fluid, or cleaning. And it would look really cool.

It's not that I love gas sucking monsters, I like trucks and SUV's. If I am in an accident, I don't want to be in a little tin can. My husband used to work in Reston and he drove a Ford F250 every day. I don't work in DC or Reston; and since my husband and I are DINKS (dual income no kids - unless you count our doggies) we get to spoil us.

Now see, if everyone drove the economical tin cans, no one would have to worry about getting squashed. But I understand the spoiling, aspect as well. Mar 30 2004, 06:04 PM
Could be WVU-M. I was just reading on another forum about Chrysler/Dodge Intrepids with a certain V-6 engine. Seems they develop sludge in the oil circulation system because the oil overheats and breaks down. Intrepids only 2 or 3 yrs old have needed either engine overhauls or completely new engines. Chrysler fails to acknowledge the problem so the owners are stuck with the repair bills.

I will never own an American made car. I used to have a Honda Civic, now I drive a Nissan Maxima. I drove my civic into the ground and plan to do the same with my Nissan. They just seem to last longer than American cars. I know they're more expensive, but they end up being worth it in the long run.

My '88 Camry is still going strong. A little rust around one of the rear wheel wells, and the driver's side electric window is starting to work only intermittently, but it gets 38mpg on the open road, and knock on wood, passes emissions with flying colors.

I read in the Wall Street Journal where Buick's are actually some the best on the road, and you do see a lot of them and I've never heard anybody complain about them. Well, let's see..I got rid of my 1995 Ford Windstar...but I got my moneys worth..it had 170k miles on it..before that I had a 1992 Chrysler Minivan--at precisely 92k it fell apart..I replaced the transmission and it still died...last one by that company I will ever buy...we just got rid of the 1991 Toyota Camry with over 200k on it..it still ran, but it was getting old and hubby has to go to the DC area every day..so we just got a new Kia small car--hubby calls it disposable...I now have a Kia Mini-van why? Because you could not beat the price and the power you got for said price...
My dream car--a 67 red mustang...yes, I owned one and sold it when I was young..now I wish I had one again--I loved driving it the best...it was such fun! Maybe when the kids leave home...

No complaints with the XL7. Although I was a bit disappointed with the way it handles in less than ideal conditions. If it's raining, you HAVE to have it in 4. I learned the hard way. Went into the median of 81 in January, couldn't get back out, even in low 4 because of the snow and incline. Totally humiliating 'cuz someone phoned 911 and out came the fire and rescue people. But really like it once I figured out how to deal with it. It has a personality all its own!
