I have 2 black cats. The male is short hair and adventurous and aloof, but pleasant. The female is long hair and just plain evil. She totally took over, chases the boy around, and all lovin' has to be on her terms. She won't even let you pick her up. Evil, I tell you!

We have 2 dogs (a greyhound and a whippet) - both are awesome pets!
We also have 2 permanent cats and 1 temporary cat (he is looking for a family to love). Our black and white cat is in love with my husband, she LOVES to lick his nose (or forehead, or cheek)! Our grey cat was left behind by a tenant and is the sweetest, most loveable cat ever. When he is getting a good petting, he drools!
So if you want to learn more about sighthounds for pets, or if you need a beautiful cat to love, let me know!

Ok, we have just two non-humans sharing our home:
Tina, our 2.5 year old hermit crab from Atlantic Beach, NC...
(actually, I don't know how old she is; that's how long we've
had her as a 'pet', and I don't even know if it's a he !!!)
And, our betta fish, who doesn't have a name, but sure
can put away every scrap of food we can throw at him !!!
(there's a name out there for him based on that behavior...)

I have a 6 year old yellow lab. He's not the smartest creature around, but he's got quite a personality for a pooch.

Question for all board members.....
Does anyone have a large fenced in area that would be suitable for sighthounds to run in?
I have a fenced yard, but it is small enough that my greyhound is getting fat

I know that there are other sighthounds in the area, and there may be a few people meeting once or twice a month with their dogs for a "play-time". Can anyone out there help out, perhaps?

You could probably get info on "clubs" from the Humane Society, Petsmart, or look up some of the greyhound rescue groups. Surely some of those people could hook you up.

I have a golden ret. 5 years old and he has his good citizens papers. I plan on taking him to nursing homes starting this summer.
I think we should adress the thought of having a fenced in dog run at the fair grouynds to the cith council. I`v been to one in Fla. and it`s a nice idea. The dogs are fenced in and can run and play with other dogs. They have the same rules as on open grounds. Clean up after your dog an keep the gates closed. The pens there are 50 x100 ft. plenty of room for them to move around.

Here ya go: 8 Red / White Cross laying Hens ... and eggs to spare. I sell them it pays for the chicken feed (also Greedy you can feed them scrapes but you have to feed layer feed too along with oyster shell. Layer feed for maxium egg production and oyster shell for thick egg shells)
1 Bronze Turkey (name Jake) I bought 6 last spring as pups to have over for Thanksgiving & Christmas Diner but only 1 lived so Girlfriend wouldn't let me eat him. I just ordered 6 more should be in about middle of May. Jake will be a year old in May and I'm not lying when I tell you.. he weighs at least 50 lbs.
2 Cats Marlin & Abagale lazyest animals I ever seen.. inside cats all they do is eat and sit on stuff..

Just have a Beta fish, I'm not really into pets. Too much to handle, have to feed it, clean up after it, and have someone look after it when you go away.

1 German Pinscher
1 domestic cat
Looking for another dog, though... we want a puppy that will grow into a large dog, and it's taking time to find one we like... we've got our eyes on the shelters.

I forgot to include the fish....bad mom! A beta, a tetra, a goldfish, an angelfish, and a sucker, all co-habitating quite well.
I see a lot of dogs at Petsmart on the weekends, but maybe they just come over from the shelter. Just a thought, peacefrog.

Yea,their usually from a "no kill" shelter and they've been seen by a vet and had shots and been fixed

if needed. We tried a male Akita-Zeus as a foster dog but he'd growl at the hubby and would only listen to me and all stupid and puppyish for me. We took him back and told the lady that he'd be great for a woman alone as a protector. Then we got Ladie in exchange. Man! she was a mouser!!

She was better than the cats! She ran away when the Phe had the puppies

. Havn't seen or heard anything since.Been lookin everywhere too. All the shelters and such.Guess somebody found her and kept her.

Let's see now:
- 1 kitten, "Josie" She was the runt of a litter from one of the cats who've taken up residence in an old, burnt-down house just outside of town, and abandoned her litter. Rescued by a neighbor at first, who gave them away. Cutest, sweetest little thing you've ever seen. But she's got to stop climbing the curtains!
- 1 former "barn cat" named Princess (I call her "stinky") that adopted my fiance' when she was renting a place on a farm. Fiance' has another place, and I've got her cat.
- 1 Australian Cattle Dog named "Ashley", also belongs to the fiance'. Nice dog, but too used to roaming at will from when they lived on that farm. She likes to roam the neighborhood. Wary of new people, she growls and bares her teeth at anyone she doesn't know. But she's the nicest dog once she knows you. I've been told I'm the only person ever whom she didn't growl at the moment we met.
- 3 fish, unnamed, in a 55-gallon tank. 1 Convict about 3.5" long, 1 Tinfoil Barb about 4", and 1 Pleco about 5.5" long. (I used to have a pair of Red Oscars. They lived about 5 years and got to be about 12" long. BIG fish, and the only ones I've ever had that were actually very "personable".) The neat thing about a 55-gallon tank is that if you don't overload it with fish, it can establish a self-sustaining ecosystem that practically never needs cleaning. Just feed the fish sparingly, top off the water when it gets low, and that's it! Of course my Oscars were way too messy for me to get away with that, but as it is now, things are going just great and I haven't done anything but topped off the water and dropped in a little food now and then for over a year.
Plus I promised my daughter a rabbit or two when the weather gets warmer and I can get out and build an outdoor hutch for 'em.

Let's see...
1 cat: Queenie, aka, Puss-Puss - She's about 9 years old; white and gray domestic short hair. Her brother, Mr. Muffin Puffin Stuffin, a red domestic long hair, died last November.
Cody, male German Shepard - Adopted at 1.5 years old; currently about 7 years old. Great gaurd dog and lap dog

Brandy, female German Shepard mix - Adopted at 6 months; currently about 8-9 years old. Very sweet dog; we believe she was abused. She was taken to the shelter, adopted, they brought her back and then we took her. We only had normal puppy problems. She chewed two pairs of my shoes, but that was my fault for leaving the closet door open. Any kind of loud noise was cause her to shake, but she's come a long way since then.
Sadie, female Doberman/Beagle mix - Adopted at 6 months (just last summer). Very much my baby.
And last but not least.....
Josie, female Potcake (caribbean mix) Adopted at 3 months in February while on vacation on Provo in the Turks & Caicos. Sweet as can be. Still working on the house training
